Embracing Malaysian Cultural Diversity and Heritage

by Faculty of Human Ecology

As a multicultural country, Malaysia’s cultural diversity provides a unique encounter for visitors who want to experience multi-ethnicity and multiculturalism in its practicality. Understanding multi-ethnicity from the perspective of human ecology will provide a better appreciation of how the diverse society functions. This summer programme will expose the students to the importance of social structure and social institutions in Malaysia. Participants will develop their knowledge, understanding and also learn more about the beauty of Malaysian culture through the lens of human ecology.

Programme Objectives

 Describe an overview of Malaysia’s multi ethnic society.

 Explain the different facets of social institutions in Malaysia.

 Experience the way of life of local communities.
