100 minutes lectures and 170 minutes laboratory activities per week.

Workload: Total workload is 4.5 ECTS, which consists of 1.67 hours lectures, 2 hours structured activities, 2 hours independent learning, 2.83 hours practice in laboratory, 16 week per semester, and a total 113.33 hours per semester including mid exam and final exam.

Credit Points: 3

Requirements according to the examination regulations:

Students have taken Introduction to Statistics course (MAM61301), have attendance at least 80%, and have the examination card when where the course is stated on.

After completing this course the student should have CLO1: ability to explain the basic concepts of Statistics.

CLO2: ability to explain the basic concepts of Descriptive Statistics.

CLO3 : ability to understand the basic concepts of counting principle and the Probability Axioms.

CLO4 : ability to identify and calculate the probability of binomial and normal random variables.

CLO5 : ability to use inferential statistics to calculate confidence interval and test hypothesis.

Content: 1. Basic concepts of Statistics: differences between Statistical and Statistic, Descriptive Statistics, Inferential Statistics, types of data, differences between population and samples, statistics and computers.

frequency distribution, various of diagrams and how to graph it.

3. Centering Data Measures : Mean, Median, Mode, Relationship of Mean, Median and Mode, Comparison of Mean, Median and Mode.

4. Data Location Measures: Quartile, Decile and Percentile.

5. Data Distribution Measures: range, Mean deviation, Variance of populations and Samples for Single and Group data, Standard Deviation for Single and Group data, Coefficient of Variance.

6. Introduction to counting principle: the sum rules, Multiplication rules, Permutation and Combination.

7. Probability Axioms: Experiments, Sample Spaces, Events and probability of Events, Expectation frequency of Event, Probability Axioms, Bayesian Rules.

8. Distribution Probability: Random Variables, Discrete and Continuous Random Variables. Discrete Probability Distribution and Continuous Probability Distribution, Bernoulli Distribution, Binomial Distribution, Normal Distribution, Standard Normal Distribution Table (Table Z).

9. Parameter Estimation: Estimation of Mean (μ), Estimation of Proportions (p), Estimation of Variance ( ), Differences between Means, Differences between Proportions.

10. Hypothesis Testing: Hypothesis Test of Mean for 1 and 2 Populations, Hypothesis Test of Proportion for 1 and 2 Populations, Hypothesis Test of Paired Data.

D+ : 50 < Final Mark ≤ 55

D : 44 < Final Mark ≤ 50

E : 0 ≤ Final Mark ≤ 44
