15 Randall Vander Met, et al., The College Writer: A guide to Thinking, Writing, and Researching, fourth edition, (Boston: Wadsworth, Cengage Learning, 2012), p. From the definition above, it can be said that the purpose of descriptive text is to give the reader information about the particular thinners in words such as place, person, situation or animal. According to Imelda Wardani et.al in the journal, “The generic structure of descriptive text consists of identification and description.

The present tense is used to describe everyday activities and habits, to make general statements of fact and to express opinion.19 Some verb, the present tense shows an existing state (something that is happening now). According to Sylvia Chalker, simple present tense is identical to the base of verb (except in the case of "be") and adds –s for third person singular (also called present (tense) simple).20 Furthermore, Raymond Murphy stated that we now simply used for things in general or things that happened repeatedly.21 Plus, Hewing Martin also explains the definition of simple present tense. he explained that we used the present simple to describe things that have always been true, or situation that exists now and, as far as we know, will continue indefinitely.22. Furthermore, according to Mark Lester, the simple present tense expresses factual statements and generalizations and describes predictable future events or actions.24.

It can be concluded from the above explanation that the present tense is a tense that expresses or mentions the activities that are habitual and factual and formed by the verb base except for the third singular subject by adding -s or -es in the verb of the sentence. The present tense uses the base of the verb and is added by -s or -es when the subject of the sentence is a third person singular (e.g. she, he, it, your friend, Mary). 23 Elaine Kirn and Darcy Jack, Interaction, p. 25 http://www.wordsmile.com/rumus-contoh-kalimat-negative-simple-present-tense.

In general, the simple present tense is used to state the event or ordinary action in the present tense. An error analysis of the se of simple present tense in the students' descriptive text writing among the eight graders of SMPN 1 Metro Kibang is to know how far the students understand simple present tense and descriptive text, also the application of simple present tense in construction. the sentences to make a descriptive text. The Description of Research Result

The Kinds of Errors on the Use Of Simple Present Tense Made By Students Of Eight Graders of SMP N 1 Metro Kibang

He works in the field every day, but he usually gets a job to build a house. The students said they actually knew the pattern, but they were still confused and had trouble applying "being" in the sentence. I am very grateful to her.' This sentence demonstrates the addition error as the student added -s/-es in the singular when it should have been "I thank her very much.".

Your eyes to give light in life." This sentence points to the addition error. The suffix "ing" used is not relevant to the context because the context required the verb "do" to be written in the present tense. While there is actually "every day" at the beginning of the sentence as a time signal for simple present.

Discussion of the Findings

It should be changed to "He works every day in the fields, but he usually gets work to build a house." This mark shows that nearly 50% of students of all subjects had made many mistakes in using the present simple tense. Meanwhile, the omission error which really becomes the most frequent error was produced by 20 students.

Further, it is also necessary to know that the reasons of the students how they might make the mistakes while doing a paper assignment by using the present tense are actually almost the same. For example, some students admitted that they had difficulty applying "to be" in the sentence. From those reasons it can be concluded that the students do not fully understand the use of the present tense.

In fact, it is not only internal factors as well as students' lack of understanding of vocabulary, but also external factors such as inappropriate teaching method. This means that it becomes the factor that influences many students to make the mistakes. In doing so, it is expected that the teachers are more aware of the dominant factors that influence the students to make mistakes.

Lecturers can therefore find an appropriate solution to overcome the problem.

After conducting the research, conducting the analysis and presenting the results, the conclusion and suggestion of this study will be presented in this last chapter. According to the result of the analysis, the writer can conclude that omission are the mistakes that students often make in the eighth grade of SMP N 1 Metro Kibang.

They need to pay a lot of attention to their students' mistakes by giving students more practical writing tasks to reduce the number of writing mistakes. When teaching English, the teacher should give an easy-to-understand explanation to make students more interested in learning English.

The teacher must not only be able to locate and describe the errors, but also understand the factor behind their occurrence.
