From the definition above, the researcher can conclude that group work is done by three to five students for the purpose of discussing problems or topics. According to Nugroho (2013), mixed group work is activity carried out by dividing the group according to the learning ability of the students. The choice topic is about the first step the use of a method in group work and it can be implemented with the teachers choose and decide the topic .. about learning itself or the teacher chooses and decides the topic together with the students. 2) The establishment of the group in purpose.

This step is the teacher's commitment to divide the class into groups based on the purpose of achieving results through group work. Teachers must conduct assessments to determine the success of the methods used for group work. Dawson (2015) found that group work can allow students to use questioning skills and discuss a problem.

Robbins (2010) The success of group work strategies depends on the ability of students to lead a group or work alone. In this research, the researcher will use the method in a cooperative learning group work activity.

Discussion

The teacher pays more attention to students in group work activities, most of the students (56.67%) have strong agree perception. The same finding is proven by Mary (2011) that group work activities in the class enable teachers to pay more attention to their students. The result of the researcher was found that group work activities students were able to speak in front of their friends to give advice in discussion, therefore most students (46.68%) preferred to vote perception.

The same with the researcher's observations that students trained in group work took responsibility and became in charge of themselves and other people. 13 students (43.33%) do not agree at all with the fact that only one or two students are active in group work, while the rest of the students expect only their friends. It is related to Nelson's (2010) theory that group work activities have disadvantages as most students become passive in waiting for the teacher's instructions.

In this statement, most of the students (33.33%) disagreed with the perception that group work activities made students lazy, but students agreed that group work activities trained students to be responsible. This is related to the theory of Ihromi (2010) who stated that group work activities help to increase students' interest and their motivation in learning process. It is the same with the result of observation researcher that in group work activities the students were taught to the teacher how to appreciate the opinion of their friends.

The same finding is proven by Dawson (2015): group work activities can give the students the opportunity to use questioning skills and discuss a problem. According to Kurnianingsih, Roestiyah N.K (2013) argued that group work activities allow students to develop respect and value opinions. Group work activities require a conducive situation. Most students (43.34%) chose the perception that they strongly agree because in the learning process favorable situations will automatically be effective for students and students can enjoy accepting material.

It is related to the theory of Nair (2012) which states that, students in group work activities give positive response in learning English because students can enjoy and be interested in learning and also perceive it as an effective learning. Long-term group work simply gives more work, most students (50%) agreed. Therefore the researcher can conclude in the eleventh grade in MA Muallimin Muhammadiyah Makassar had good category perception on the use of group work activities in learning English.
