Hardianto (2016) found in his thesis titled ''The Use of Fishbone Strategy to Improve students' Reading Comprehension at Senior High School'' that the purpose of learning to read is basically to understand the text being read. Reading skills should be taught seriously in the classroom to make students understand the text and then they can get a good score in the final exam. Fitriani (2012) ''Improving Reading Comprehension through Fishbone Strategy at Senior High School'' found that Strategy asks students to determine the main idea of ​​a reading by requiring him to determine 'who, what, when, where, why and how' of the reading.

These strategies can help the teacher to make students more comprehensible and focused in reading.

Concept of Reading

Snow (2004) reading comprehension is the process of simultaneously extracting and constructing meaning through interaction and engagement with written language we use the words extract and construct to both the importance and the text to be understood, the activity in which understanding a Share. Of course, the specific cognitive, motivational and linguistic abilities and the knowledge base used in any act of reading comprehension depend on the texts used and the specific activity in which one engages. There is much we can say about both the nature of reading comprehension as a process and about effective reading comprehension instruction.

Unlike decoding, oral reading, and reading readiness, those studying reading comprehension instruction have avoided much of the rigor characteristic of work in other aspects of reading, as it should, much work on the process of reading comprehension has been grounded in studies of good readers.

Fishbone Strategy

Daniel (2012), stated that the purpose of Fishbone organizer helps students recognize that nonfiction articles and expository writing contain a main idea and supporting details. Knowledge evaluation; asking students to complete Fishbone Strategy which enables teachers to assess the students' prior knowledge. As the whole class "walks" through the Strategy, the teacher researchers provide the information about the transparency while the students fill out their forms.

Students are given a short time to skim the chapter and then asked to complete the Fish Strategy with the main ideas of the chapter, including: what is the main idea.

Theoretical Framework

After collecting the students' data, the researcher classifies the students' results into the following criteria:. Most of the students were confused about how to find the main idea of ​​the text. Based on the data in the pre-test and post-test, there was an improvement in students' reasoning.

The improvement of the students' mean score in the pre- and post-test proved that the Fishbone strategy was used to improve students' reading comprehension when concluding the text.

Shown from the average score of the students in the pre-test and post-test and also the percentage of improvement. The improvement in students' mean score in the pre-test and post-test proved that the fishbone strategy used was used in students' reading comprehension to understand the main idea. It was supported by the mean score and percentage of students' scores before and after the test.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

Then the researcher administered treatment using Fishbone Strategy and the students' score improved. The data showed that the influence of Fishbone Strategy could improve the students' reading comprehension on understanding the main idea. Therefore, Fishbone Strategy can help students organize the information of the text, making it easier for them to piece together information or gain a better understanding of the main idea of ​​the text.

Before the treatment or tests, the mean score on the main idea test was 2.1. After the administration of the treatment or after the tests on the technique exposure, the mean reading value in terms of the main idea was 2.6. After the researcher gave the pre-test and post-test, there was improvement in reading comprehension in the completion of the text. The percentage of students' improvement from pre-test to post-test was 70% with a range of 1.3.

The fishbone strategy provides a better understanding of the meaning of the text so that students can easily complete the text. Based on the result, it could be concluded that the fishbone strategy could improve students' reading comprehension in understanding the main idea and inferring the text. Before treatment or trials, the mean score on the main idea pretest was 1.6 after administration of the treatment or posttests on the technique explanation, and the mean reading on the main idea was 2.6.

Discussion

During the pre-test, when the students understood the man idea, they got confused about the main idea of ​​the text that was given. Based on the above findings in the Fishbone Strategy used in the classroom, the data was collected by the test, as the explanations in the previous findings section showed that the students' reading comprehension when drawing conclusions from the text. There was a significant difference between the reading comprehension of the students taught by the teacher and those taught using Fishbone Strategy.

Therefore, it is recommended that the teacher includes the Fishbone Strategy as one of the teaching strategies used in the class. It is suggested that the English teacher uses the Fishbone Strategy as one of the alternative and creative ways to improve students' reading comprehension. The result of the research was proved in the previous chapter that there was a significant difference between the pre-test mean score experimental group is 0.04 and control group is 0.43 and post-test mean score experimental group 0.85 and control group is 0.06 and that difference has an improvement of the students' reading ability. The second grade students of SMA Disamakan Makassar achieved good performance in reading comprehension through the use of Fishbone Strategy.

The result or calculate the average score in experimental class and control class based on results from researcher showed that the analyzed data indicated that there was a small difference on pretest between experimental class and control.

Suggestion
