Distance learning is learning that takes place outside the traditional classroom because the students and the teacher are separated by distance and/or time. Despite some limitations, the current situation requires action so that the education of students is not affected in any way. 12. a. The reasons why teachers should use distance learning in assessment are of interest to students, because due to the spread of the corona virus or the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, many universities and schools have stopped the face-to-face learning process.
The spread of the corona virus or the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia has caused many universities and schools to stop face-to-face learning processes. In the midst of the spread of the COVID-19 corona virus, online learning like this can actually be an effective alternative to face-to-face classroom meetings. 13.
Conceptual Framework
For those unaccustomed to distance learning, they must adapt to remain visible and responsively communicative with teachers or other classmates. If necessary, a separate group should also be created that should be face to face, communication should be well established to avoid misunderstandings. If you are unsure of the results of the work being done, contact your teacher immediately.
As Apple Insider reported, while distance learning is difficult for many students once they get used to it, it actually provides a freedom and flexibility that isn't available in classroom teaching and learning. Process: in the research, I use the method of distance learning and data acquisition with the help of questionnaires and data analysis.
Hypothesis
Variable and the Definition of Variable 1. Variable
Quantitative are research methods based on a positive philosophy, used to investigate specific populations or samples, collect data using research instruments, quantitative or statistical data analysis, with a view to testing the hypotheses it has stated.1 . Descriptive research is a method of research that aims at a systematic and careful analysis of the actual facts and nature of a particular population group, with the aim of solving the actual problems that we now face and collecting data or information that need to be described and analyzed.2. The selection of the study This study aims to know the student's perception of the student's interest in distance learning.
The researcher will use a questionnaire in this research to answer questions about it in a second class of SMPN 1 Lembang Kabupaten Pinrang.

Instrument of the Research
Technique of Collecting Data
In this test, the form of questionnaire concludes with the alternative answer that will be chosen by the students.
Technique of Data Analysis
This chapter consists of two parts, the research findings and the discussion of the findings. To achieve the objective of this research, the researcher took some steps to collect the data.
Findings
The table above shows that students who agree with the statement that they prefer playing games than studying online are comparable to students who disagree with the above statement. The table above shows that students who give them a choice agree and disagree that they prefer to study online than study at their school, have the same comparison. The table above shows that students who strongly or strongly agree with the statement are more interested in studying online than studying in school compared to students who disagree. The table above shows that there is a big difference between students who agree and students who disagree. The table above shows that students who choose to agree are more dominant than students who disagree with the fact that they always collect assignments on time.
The table above shows that students are more interested in disagreeing with the fact that they are delayed in completing the work given by the teacher, compared to students who do agree.
Discussion
Where in the positive questions the preference of the students is disagree and strongly disagree, while in the negative questions many dominant students do so. This proves that students' response to students' interest in distance learning in the second grade SMPN 1 Lembang Kabupaten Pinrang falls into the non-committed category. The percentage of student response was calculated by dividing the number of students at a given level by all sample numbers, multiplied by p x 100%.
Research on students' interest in distance learning (a study) in the second grade of SMPN 1 Lembang Kabupaten Pinrang. It can be seen in the graph above that shows the choice of student responses to students' interest in distance learning. There are several student selection responses that strongly agree and strongly disagree with positive statements as well as negative statements.
This is seen in positive statements number 6 and 3, where some students' response strongly agrees with statement. This proves that students are interested in distance learning at the second of SMPN 1 Lembang Kabupaten Pinrang. In the study a questioner used as a tool to collect students' statement, which is given online using the whatsapp application.
Based on the description above, it can be concluded that during the distance learning process that has occurred since the COVID-19, it certainly affects teachers and students, especially the students' interest in learning. The percentage of student response is calculated by dividing the number of students at the given level by the total number of the sample, multiplying by 100% = x 100%.
