Atlit professional merupakan seseorang yang berprestasi dalam bidang olahraga yang mewakili kota maupun negara. Kota Bandung mempunyai banyak atlit berprestasi. Atlit professional berlatih untuk terus berprestasi tetapi karena tempat yang disediakan KONI digunakan oleh semua cabang olahraga maka dari itu atlit menggunakan ruang terbuka hijau sebagai alternatif tempat berlatih.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesesuaian ruang terbuka hijau berdasarkan luas dengan standar sarana atlet professional, standar cabang olahraga dan standar fasilitas penunjang sebagai alternatif tempat berlatih atlit professional di Kota Bandung, dengan lokasi terpilih yaitu Taman Tegalega, Taman Kiara Artha dan Taman Persib yang dipilih melalui luas ruang terbuka hijau. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada Taman Tegalega, Taman Kiara Artha dan Taman Persib berdasarkan kondisi eksisting dan standar masih belum memenuhi untuk dijadikan tempat berlatih atlit professional. Hal ini disebabkan karena masih adanya indikator yang belum memenuhi kriteria atau parameter cabang olahraga dan fasilitas penunjang. Mayoritas indikator yang belum memenuhi kriteria diantaranya indikator cabang olahraga sepeda, indikator ruang ganti dan ruang bilas. Namun, diantara ketiga taman tersebut taman yang dapat digunakan menjadi alternatif tempat berlatih atlit professional adalah Taman Tegalega dan Taman Persib.

Professional athlete has capability to be the representative of its professional team, city, or country in sport tournaments. There are many athletes with a lot of achievements as the representatives of Bandung who practice oftentimes and need proper places to practice. However, sport facilities that are provided by KONI (National Sports Committee if Indonesia) are not effectively used. One of the reasons is many sports use the same facility. It means that they need more proper facilities to practice. Many athletes use urban open space as its alternative venue to practice.
The objective of this research is to identify the suitability of urban open space based on athlete’s facility standard, sport’s standard, and its supporting facilities standard as the alternative of sport facilities for athletes as their practice venue in Bandung. The selected venues in this research are Tegalega Park, Kiara Artha Park, and Persib Park which are selected based on their size of urban open space.
Data analysis method used is quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis..
The result of this research is the existing condition of those parks are not suitable enough to be the alternative place for professional athletes to conduct their practice sessions. All of three parks don’t fulfill the criteria of feasible sport facilities such as its changing rooms and restrooms for cycling athletes. From all the indicator in this research, Tegalega Park and Persib Park are the venues that are most likely to have decent standard for athletes to practice.
