Keamanan adalah faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan dalam membangun sebuah web server. Penetration test diartikan sebagai cara legal untuk mengekploitasi sistem pada komputer dengan tujuan mencari kerentanan pada server web dan meningkatkan keamanan pada sistem. Penetration test dilakukan pada web server yang merupakan server web pada perguruan tinggi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi Information Gathering, Vullnerability Assessmant, gaining acces, maintaining acces, Clearing Track. Hasil penelitian menampilkan bahwa terdapat tiga kelemahan pada web server yaitu level high, level medium, dan level low. terdapat beberapa port yang masih terbuka dalam web server yang menyebabkan orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab dengan mudah masuk kedalam sistem untuk mengekploitasi informasi yang terdapat dalam server web. Hasil ujicoba simulasi serangan terhadap sistem berhasil masuk dengan mendapatkan username dan password, dan melakukan floading data terhadap web server tersebut.

Security is an important factor that must be considered in building a web server. Penetration testing is defined as a legal way to exploit systems on computers with the aim of finding vulnerabilities in web servers and improving system security. Penetration tests are carried out on a web server which is a web server at a university. The methods used in the research include Information Gathering, Vullnerability Assessman, gaining access, maintaining access, Clearing Track. The results show that there are three weaknesses in the web server, namely high level, medium level, and low level. there are several ports that are still open on the web server which causes irresponsible people to easily enter the system to exploit the information contained in the web server. The results of the simulation trial of the attack on the system successfully entered by getting a username and password, and loading data on the web server.
