Latar belakang pada penelitian ini yaitu belum tersedianya modul ajar berbasis integrative learning design framework yang dimuat dalam suatu web-based learning untuk mata pelajaran geografi materi mitigasi bencana alam yang dapat menunjang peserta didik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan spatial thinking.
Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang peneliti lakukan di SMAN 5 Tasikmalaya, bahwa permasalahan yang diteliti mengenai proses pembelajaran Geografi dengan menggunakan modul ajar berbasis integrative learning design framework dan pengaruh penggunaan modul ajar berbasis integrative learning design framework terhadap peningkatan kemampuan spatial thinking. Variabel pada penelitian ini meliputi model pengembangan integrative learning design framework sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan spatial thinking sebagai variabel terikat.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan pengamatan, tes, angket, wawancara dan studi literatur. Jumlah sampel terdiri dari 36 peserta didik dari kelas eksperimen dan 36 peserta didik dari kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan diawali dengan uji normalitas dan homogenitas data kemudian selanjutnya dilakukan uji statistika non parametrik dengan menggunakan Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian terlaksananya langkah-langkah proses pembelajaran menggunakan modul ajar berbasis integrative learning design framework terhadap peningkatan kemampuan spatial thinking peserta didik melalui tahapan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti dan evaluasi serta pre-test dan post-test pada awal pertemuan dan akhir pertemuan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terdapat pengaruh setelah menggunakan modul ajar berbasis integrative learning design framework terhadap peningkatan kemampuan spatial thinking peserta didik dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05.

The background of this study is the unavailability of teaching modules based on the integrative learning design framework contained in web-based learning for geography subjects and natural disaster mitigation material that can support students in improving spatial thinking skills. Based on a preliminary study conducted by researchers at SMAN 5 Tasikmalaya, the problems studied regarding the Geography learning process using teaching modules based on the integrative learning design framework and the influence of using teaching modules based on integrative learning design framework on improving spatial thinking skills. The variables in this study include the development model of the integrative learning design framework as an independent variable and the ability of spatial thinking as a dependent variable. This study used quantitative descriptive methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation and observation, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies. The sample number consisted of 36 students from the experimental class and 36 students from the control class using random sampling techniques. The data analysis technique used begins with a test of normality and homogeneity of data, and then a non- parametric statistical test is carried out using Wilcoxon. The results of the research carried out the steps of the learning process using teaching modules based on the integrative learning design framework to improve the spatial thinking ability of students through the preliminary stages, core activities, and evaluation as well as pre-test and post-test at the beginning of the meeting and the end of the meeting. The result of this study is that there is an influence after using teaching modules based on integrative learning design framework on increasing students' spatial thinking skills with Sig. (2-tailed) values of 0.000 <
0.05.
