PRINSIP KONSELING
Konseling adalah proses pemberian
bantuan yang dilakukan melalui
wawancara konseling oleh seorang
ahli (konselor) kepada individu yang
sedang mengalami sesuatu
masalah (klien) yang bermuara
pada teratasinya masalah yang
dihadapi oleh klien.

konseling melayani semua individu tanpa memandang suku, jenis kelamin, umur, bangsa, agama, dan status sosial ekonomi.

Pelayanan konseling perlu menjangkau keunikan dan kekompleksan pribadi individu.

Perlu dikenali dan dipahami keunikan setiap individu dengan berbagai kekuatan,
kelemahan dan permasalahannya.

Pelayanan
konseling harus mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek perkembangan individu

Perbedaan individu harus dipahami dan dipertimbangakan dalam rangka memberikan bantuan ata bimbingan.
Bidang konseling pada umumnya dibatasi hanya pada hal-hal yang menyangkut
pengaruh kondisi mental dan fisik individu terhadap penyesuaian dirinya serta dalam kaitanya dengan kontak sosial dan
pekerjaan, dan sebaliknya pengaruh kondisi lingkungan terhadap kondisi mental dan
fisik individu. Keadaan sosial, ekonomi dan politik yang
kurang menguntungkan merupakan faktor salah satu pada diri individu dan hal itu
semua menuntut perhatian seksama dari para konselor dalam mengentaskan masalah klien.

Program konseling harus harus fleksibel , disesuaikan dengan
kondisi lembaga, kebutuhan individu dan masyarakat.
Pelaksanaan konseling hendaknya diadakan penilaian yang teratur untuk mengetahui sejauh mana hasil dan manfaat yang diperoleh , serta mengetahui kesesuaian antara program yang direncanakan dan pelaksanaannya.
Program konseling harus disusun dan dipadukan dengan program pendidikan dan pengembangan secara menyeluruh.

5. Untuk mengelola pelayanan konseling dengan baik dan sejauh mungkin
memenuhi tuntutan individu, program pengukuran dan penilaian terhadap individu hendaknya dilakukan, dan himpunan data yang memuat hasil pengukuran dan penilaian itu
dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan dengan baik.
6. Organisasi program konseling
hendaknya flekibel, disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan individu dan lingkungannya.
7. Tanggung jawab pengelolaan program konseling hendaknya diletakkan di
pundak seorang pemimpin program yang terlatih dan terdidik secara khusus.
8. Penilaian periodik peru dilakukan terhdap program yang sedang berjalan.
1. Pelayanan konseling harus diarahkan untuk mengembangkan klien agar mampu membimbing diri sendiri dalam menghadapi setiap kesulitan atau permasalahan yang dihadapi.
2. Dalam proses konseling keputusan yang diambil hendaklah atas kemauan klien sendiri.
3. Permasalahan khusus yang dialami klien harus ditangani oleh tenaga ahli dalam bidang yang relevan dengan permasalahan khusus tersebut.
4. Konseling dilaksanakan oleh tenaga ahli yang telah memperoleh
pendidikan dan latihan khusus dalam
bidang konseling
Langkah/Tahapan Konseling
Langkah ini mengantarkan klien ke dalam suasana hubungan yang kondusif antara konselor dan klien. Suasana yang
dimaksud adalah aman, nyaman dan menyenagkan.
