Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh

Alhamdulillahhi rabbilalamin. All of our praise and gratitude for the presence of Allah SWT who has bestowed His sustenance, mercy and guidance so that we can be given the opportunity, health, strength and ability to carry out the First International Conference by the Library Study Program and the FIP UPI Information Science.

This proceeding was compiled to document the ideas and results of research related to the international theme of the conference "Roles of Library Science, Documentation, and Archives in Education in the Era of Technology and Information". Participants who attended the international conference consisted of academies, lecturers, school librarians and other information institutions.

On this occasion, we also appreciate and thank you to all the speakers who have contributed to the international conference. REFERENCE SERVICE PARADIGM OF INFORMATION AGE

ABSTRACT

Reference services which provide printed collections are increasingly abandoned due to technological advances. The patrons on the reference service in the college library are reduced. Massive technology facilitates information retrieval so that it replaces the function of reference collections. Characteristics of students who prefer searching online information affect the service reference paradigm in the 21st century. After pre-research found instagram account that contains content reference service and has a lot of followers are Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia.This study aims to categorize the number of post instagram Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia which is included in the reference collection. This research is a quantitative content analysis. The results show that 47% of Wow Fakta are included in reference collections with the most consecutive uploaded sequences, encyclopedias, abstracts, yearbooks, almanacs, biographies. Nat Geo Indonesia of 80% is included in reference collections with the most consecutive uploaded sequences, encyclopedias, yearbooks, biographies, almanacs, abstracts and geographic sources. From this research is obtained analysis that the library can do dissemination of reference content owned as both instagram account. Paradigm of reference service from the side of the content is not abandoned but the way of dissemination that should follow the development of the era. This is the service paradigm of the 21st century reference focuses on dissemination of information and the provision of online content.

INTRODUCTION

ata in the 21st century is likened to oil which is a valuable asset and if processed will produce huge profits. The processed data produces information needed by the community. Information stored in a library of various kinds, one of which is a reference collection. According to Alderman (2014) reference collection is used to gather together in one convenient location standard and that will provide answer to question on any topic in any field of research. The reference collection has several types, namely encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, user manuals, yearbooks, almanacs, directories, geographic sources, biographies, bibliographies, abstracts, indices, statistical sources, government publications, and catalogs. The types of collections can be used as reference sources for users to conduct studies and research.

Reference collections were surveyed by the ALA Annual Conference in 2007, out of 145 librarians who answered print reference collections died 58 percent. While those who answered can still be used by 33%. In addition, at Wright State University of 14,000 collections, only 30% used and borrowed in the last five years was only 6%.

These results indicate that the reference collection is dead, almost dead, or no longer used by users, although there are still some users who need it (Polanka, 2008).

The fact that print reference collections are dead, librarians must be more creative in packaging them. This form of creativity can be done by repackaging information into a creative, innovative form, so that every information content can be traced, read and understood easily by the user. This form of creativity can change the print form to digital. According to Terrel (2015) digital reference services are just another way of organizing information—there is no revolution here, unless it is in providing information with more efficiency—with breadth, depth, and access that surpasses what is possible via a print-only reference collection. Therefore, the dissemination of digital forms can be done using the internet in order to reach a wider user.

Internet users in Indonesia based on a survey of the Indonesian Internet Networking Organizing Association (APJII) in 2016 had reached 132.7 million people with a conversion of Indonesian population ranging from 256.2 million.

People are more dominant in accessing the internet through more computers.

Statistical data is 63.1 million people or 47.6 percent accessed from the device and 2.2 million people or 1.7 percent access it from a computer. The most visited sites, namely Facebook as much as 71.6 million people or 54%, then Instagram as many as 19.9 million people or 15%, youtube 14.5 million people or 11% and Google as many as 7.9

million people or 6%. This phenomenon shows that social media dominates internet use in Indonesia

Instagram social media as the second most visited site is an application that allows users to take photos, apply digital filters, and share them to various social networking services. Library promotion through Instagram accounts in Indonesia after observation, the contents are limited to promotion of services and activities carried out by the library. Whereas in fact the library can promote the contents of its collection. Therefore, another Instagram account that contains scientific content is sought. These accounts are Wow and Nat Geo Indonesia. Wow The fact that in September 2017 his followers had reached 5.1 million people and the number of posts was 27,197. Nat Geo Indonesi account has 314 thousand followers and the number of posts is nj1,977. The image uploaded by the two accounts after observation is entered into the reference collection.

Steps taken to observe further how many posts belong to the category of reference collection types, namely using content analysis. Content analysis is a scientific research technique to find out the characteristics and content of an information. The research technique has charactristics of objectivity, systematicity, replicability, visible content, summary, and generalization. Therefore, this study aims to categorize the posting of Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia Instagram accounts that fall into the category of reference collection types.

LITERATURE REVIEW Definition of Social Media

Social media is a form of information and communication technology development in the 21st century. Social media according to Salomon (2013), namely web-based user service with profile facilities, view available user lists, invite and receive friends into the site.

Definition of Social Media Instagram

Instagram is one of the most popular social media today. Instagram words come from the words "insta" and "gram". Aditya (2015) explains that the word "insta"

comes from the instant word, an instant polaroid camera, while "gram" comes from the word telegram which means that it can send information quickly. While the overall meaning of Instagram according to Frommer (2010) is,

Definition of Reference Services

Reference service is one of the services provided by the library. The reference service according to IGI Global is it's kind of library service to assist the users to find the information they need. In addition, University of Toledo (2016) explained that we also help you select and use the best resources to find what you need.

Based on the two definitions above it can be concluded that the reference service is a library service that helps users to find, select and use the most appropriate source according to their needs.

Reference Services Task

Reference service as a service that is directly related to the reader detailed by Purwani (2014) has the following tasks.

a. Providing guidance to users who appear confused in finding reference sources b. Librarians must be more active in carrying out their functions. Not only

passively waiting to be asked but must create various means of search tools that are useful for library users.

c. Utilizing information and telecommunications technology in creating search tools.

Definition of Reference Collection

The reference term comes from the English referral which means pointing.

Reference collection according to Alderman (2014) is “reference collection is used to gather together in one convenient location standard and that will provide answer to question on any topic in any field of research.”

Types of Reference Services

The reference collection has several types including encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, user manuals, yearbooks, almanacs, directories, biographical sources, bibliographies, abstracts, indexes, statistical sources,

government publications, and catalogs.

METHOD

This research is a quantitave content analysis. subject this research is account instagram Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia. Object this research is the image uploaded by Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia.

Population this research is all uploaded images untill october 2017 by Wow Fakta, specifically 27,197 and Nat Geo Indonesia, specifically 1,977. Sampel this research is image uploaded in the period Mei untill October 2017, specifically 5,500 post and Nat Geo Indonesia, specifically 154 post.

Method of collecting data this research is documentation used thematic recording analysis. Step taken is (1) look closely at the text in the picture and description of each picture uploaded in the period Mei untill October 2017, (2) categoize each data based of reference collection criteria, (3) add and present data that has been grouped, and (4) add coment and like on each data.

The research instrument used is the guideline for analyzing the contents of reference collection data arranged in table based on reference collection category using criteria (1) suitability of the reference collection type criteria with the description on each uploaded image and (2) suitability of the reference collection category with fill in the text on each uploaded image.

Data analyzing this research done by descriptive method, that is explain a problem, phenomenom or situation of the document and not test hypothesis. The step in analyzing data is (1) descrip finding using descriptive statistic and (2) calculate the findings data using a formula like the following.

FINDINGS

Number of postings on Instagram accounts Wow Fakta for the period May- October 2017 amounted to 5,500. Nat Geo Indonesia Instagram account is 188. Wow Fakta post after being analyzed included in the reference collection amounted to 2,596 and Nat Geo Indonesia amounted to 135. These postings after being categorized, were divided into several reference collections including the following.

Table 1 shows that encyclopedias are a reference collection of first order Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia Instagram accounts. The next collection of reference categories is different for each account.

The results showed that encyclopedias collection types on Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia Instagram accounts were the most uploaded. That fact is because encyclopedias provide clear information about an object. Clarity of the information is like the following post.

Fill in Instagram Account Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia Collection Type Abstract

The results showed that the types of abstract collections on Instagram accounts Wow Fakta were the second most uploaded. While the Nat Geo Indonesia account is the 4th most uploaded. Abstract according to Elmer E. Ramuson Library (2016) is a supplementary sources of periodical articles and tend to be more descriptive.

In addition, Nat Geo Indonesia uploaded abstracts as follows.

The results showed that the type of year book collection uploaded by account instagram Wow Fakta become the most uploaded theme in third place. While the Nat Geo Indonesia account is the second most uploaded. Yearbook according to Widyawan (2012) about all events in one year. The year book is used to record, underline, and to commemorate the past year or books published annually. The year book posting is as follows.

Based on these definitions and postings it can be concluded that the annual book is a book that records activities in one year at institutions, agencies, and organizations to see their history and development. The uploaded annual books on the Wow Fakta dominant Instagram account discuss company activities and record yearbooks.

Following is the posting of the organization's year book.

The post shows that there is the latest information about the triumph of Indonesian tourism videos held by UNWTO as one of the UN agencies engaged in tourism. That, if associated with the characteristics of information according to Rochaety (2017) is just in time. Just in time according to the information from the annual book which is published every year.

The results of the study found that the type of manual collection uploaded by Instagram account Wow Fakta became the most uploaded collection in eighth place.

While Nat Geo Indonesia accounts do not upload user guide collections. The manual explains how to practice practically about the type of work or about how to work on a device (Rahayuningsih, 2007). The following are posting instructions.

The results showed that the type of almanac collection uploaded by Instagram Instagram Wow Fakta became the most uploaded collection in fourth place. While on Nat Geo Indonesia account is in third place. Almanac according to Elmer E.

Rasmuson Library (2016) is contain statistics and about countries, events, personalities, or subjects. Almanac resources have call numbers that begin with AY.

This definition can be interpreted that the almanac contains statistical data and about

the country, the occurrence of a person or events about a particular subject. Events that occur in a country like the following post.

The results of the study found that the type of biographical collection uploaded by the Instagram account Wow Fakta became the most uploaded collection in the fifth place. Biography according to Nugrahini (2013) contains information about the life history of a person that is arranged alphabetically and systematically. Biography is useful for answering birth dates, religions, hobbies, families, works and so on from famous people. The biography is like the following post.

Image 6 shows that the type of biography collection uploaded by an Instagram account Wow Fakta reveals the other side of great figures for example Adolf Hitler.

Revealing the other side of great figures can be used as material for learning about determination, forgiveness, sacrifice, and so on (Suroso, 2016). Learning about sacrifice is found in the following post.

Wiryanto, 78 tahun, seorang veteran yang berjuang pada Operasi Trikora, Dwikora, dan Seroja. Beliau selalu membawa buku catatan saat berpergian dan dari catatannya ini akan dibuat menjadi buku tentang proses terbentuknya Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Beliau merasa masih banyak yang tidak tahu secara riil proses terbentuknya NKRI. "Saya merasa generasi saat ini tidak banyak yang mau membaca dan bertanya kepada kami para orang tua," ujarnya. Kemudian beliau menambahkan lagi "Kalau ingin paham tentang sejarah Indonesia bisa ditanyakan kepada kami yang dahulu berjuang dan merasakan. Dengan senang hati kami akan menceritakannya kepada kalian, seperti mas saat ini.

The post showed the sacrifice of a veteran who struggled how the Republic of Indonesia was formed. The veteran hopes that the current generation will learn about Indonesia's history. Learning about sacrifice is included in affective needs. Affective needs according to Wilson (1981) are sometimes called psychological or emotional needs.

The government issue according to Imran (2014) is a reference material that is officially published by the government through an official institution that contains information relating to government issues or problems for the public interest. The collection includes covering state sheets, a set of state regulations, official policies and speeches (Wahyuni and Rahmah, 2012).

The results showed that the dictionary was in seventh place on Wow Fakta account. But Nat Geo Indonesia's Instagram account does not upload dictionary collections. Dictionary is a collection of word lists arranged alphabetically accompanied by spelling, pronunciation, division of syllables, the origin of words and their use (Bektiningsih, 2008). The results showed that the type of geographic source collection uploaded by the Instagram account Wow Fakta became the most uploaded collection in the ninth place. While on Nat Geo Indonesia account is in fourth place. Geographic sources according to the Coleman Library (2012) the reference collection provides authoritative information, maps and gazetteers covering all areas of the world. This definition can be interpreted as a reference collection including atlas, maps, and maps that cover the whole world. Map posting like the following picture.

Image 10 shows that the information provided is the latest information about the map of Indonesia. If it is associated with the internet generation according to Nicholas (2009), now come people need to keep up to date, to follow the new development in their areas of interest. Therefore, library reference services can use a collection of geographic sources to always be aware of the latest developments.

Accounts Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia after proven research that many people like. This can be seen from the number of posts and the number of likes. Both of these can represent that information about science, especially reference collections, if processed properly, will be easier to use in accordance with the current information age.

Based on these , the library, especially reference services, can learn from both accounts that reference collections that are packaged into a concise and attractive display, distributed through Instagram are more popular and can improve reference services. This is in accordance with Suhendar (2012) opinion that the library's mission in general is to touch people who need information both stored in the library and elsewhere that are achieved online.

Library missions that can reach online are in line with the concept of library 2.0.

The concept according to Cassey (2006) is "The level of customer participation will vary depending on the organization, the community served, and the service or program involved." The community served by the library today is very close to the internet so that a service innovation is needed. according to their habits, the internet.

The second largest number of internet users according to APJII in 2016 is 15% of Indonesians are Instagram users.

Service innovation if associated with the opinion of Purwani (2014) is very suitable, namely regarding the task of reference services. The task is that librarians must be more active in carrying out their functions. Not only passively waiting to be asked but must create various means of search tools that are useful for library users.

Then Ayeni (2015) also adds that the reference library is faced with the daunting task of performing electronic reference services, and using "sencond life" as an aid to the perform reference service. "

Librarians who begin to change by using the internet as a means, will bring up a new reference service. These services can also be called digital references service or DRS. DRS can use the concept of library 3.0 that the reference library can only stand as a guide to high quality information services or experience without being a prerequisite to the information that information or service in the first place (Eysenbach, 2008). For example 3.0 libraries include social networking sites, blogs,

wikis, semantic web, etc (Ayeni, 2015). Social media, especially Instagram, can be applied to develop innovations about reference services that utilize their collections to change their forms and access their distribution. This is done because based on research conducted on Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia Instagram accounts that reference collection is preferred by the community. Therefore, both instagram accounts can be copied by library reference services.

CONCLUSION

The results of the analysis of the contents of the reference collectio n on Wow Fakta instagram accounts. show that 47% of posts in May-October 2017 are included in the reference collection. The most widely used reference collection sequences are encyclopedias, abstracts, yearbooks, almanacs, biographies, government regulations, dictionaries, manuals, and geographic sources. The results of the analysis of the contents of the reference collection on Nat Geo Indonesia's Instagram account indicate that 80% of posts in May-October 2017 are included in the reference collection. The most widely uploaded reference collection sequence, namely

encyclopedias, yearbooks, biographies, almanacs, abstracts and geographic sources.

Instagram Wow Fakta and Nat Geo Indonesia characteristics are series and thematic.

In the information age, it is proven that the form of digital reference collections repackaged in the form of pictorial text is more preferred. This is the 21st century reference service paradigm that focuses on disseminating information and providing online content.
