collection, the Crustacea from which are here enumerated,

was made

in August, 1882,

by an

expeditionunder thedirection of Mr.

W.

A.

Stearns.

The

dredgings,

which

were all in shallow water, were

made by

Messrs. Stearns, B. S. Barrows,

Edwin

B. Flint, J.A. Allen,

and

Charles L.Flint,jr.

The

collection

was made

at differentpoints alongthe coastfrom Forteau

Bay

to

Dead

Island.

The

principallocal- ities are: Forteau Bay, aboutnorthlatitude51°30',westlongitude 56°

55'; L'ansean Loup, about51°33'

and

56°48';

Temple

Bay, about52°

2'

and

55° 55'; Henley Harbor, near the

mouth

of

Temple Bay

;

Fox

Harbor, on SaintLewis Sound;

and Dead

Island, near SquareIsland, about52° 48'

and

55° 48'.

A

part of the specimens were sent to the

Museum

ofYaleCollege

by

Messrs.

Barrows and

Allen, oftheSheffield ScientificSchool,

and

therestweresenttotheNational

Museum by

Mr.

Stearns.

Both

parts ofthecollectionare

combined

inthefollowinglist.

The

preparation ofthislisthas involved a

more

orless criticalexam- ination of thelists of Crustacea of the

same

regiongiven

by

Professor Packard, aud, having

had

access to aset of the specimens

upon

which Professor Packard's

work was

based, I have attempted to revise the marineCrustacea of hislists,

and

have embodied this revision ina cat- alogue ofallthespecies

known

fromthe Labradorcoast, whichis given in thepaper followingthe presentlist.

eight females, all carrying eggs.

All the specimens

have

the dorsal edge of the rostrum justas in

H.

Fabricii, thatis, wholly

unarmed

except nearthebase,nearlystraight,

and

horizontal.

Although

allthe specimens are rather large, seven of

them haye

only three teeth onthe dorsalcrest,

two

on the carapax,

and

one on the rostrum, while the other specimen has butfour teethin all.

Two

ofthespecimens

have

awell-developed epipodatthe baseof one of thethird pairoflegs, onehas awell-developed epipodatthe base of each ofthethirdpair of legs, while the other specimens are, as usual, withoutepipodsatthebases of thethird pair oflegs. In other respects thespecimensare normal. Thesecharacters,withthelength,are
