1. Extensive experience leading high-profile projects of varying complexity and size

Situation: During my tenure with UNDP’s Effective Collaborative Action (ECA) program initiative, I led several high-profile projects, including the Siak Pelalawan Landscape Program (SPLP).

Task: I was responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agricultural practices and conservation techniques to mitigate climate change impacts.

Action: I coordinated with local farmers, government officials, and other stakeholders, organizing workshops and training sessions. I also managed project timelines and budgets, ensuring that all objectives were met.

Result: The program successfully introduced sustainable practices to over 50 local farms, significantly reducing their carbon footprint and enhancing biodiversity. This experience demonstrates my ability to manage complex projects and deliver impactful results.

2. Ability to develop options and pathways for the inclusion of ocean emissions and marine nature-based solutions in countries’ climate commitments

Situation: While working on the Development of Blue Green Circular Economy (BGCE)

Guidelines for the tourism sector, I focused on integrating environmental sustainability into policy frameworks.

Task: My task was to develop strategies for including renewable energy and nature-based solutions into existing tourism practices.

Action: I conducted extensive literature reviews and collaborated with experts to identify best practices. I then developed guidelines that incorporated these solutions, focusing on practical implementation strategies.

Result: The guidelines were adopted by several local governments, leading to a notable increase in sustainable tourism practices. This project illustrates my ability to create actionable pathways for integrating environmental solutions into broader policy commitments.

3. Experience in engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across government, business, and academia

Situation: In my role with Jejakin, I was tasked with promoting digital monitoring and evaluation methodologies for smallholder oil palm farmers.

Task: I needed to engage a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and academic institutions, to foster understanding and adoption of these methodologies.

Action: I organized and led numerous workshops, seminars, and focus group discussions, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration among stakeholders.

Result: This engagement led to the successful implementation of a transparent and accessible monitoring platform, which improved stakeholder cooperation and enhanced the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.

4. Proven leadership and people management skills

Situation: As the Project Leader of Ethnobotany for the Baseline and Trajectory of Change of Belowground Biodiversity project, I managed a team of researchers and students.

Task: My responsibility was to ensure the smooth execution of field activities, data collection, and analysis while maintaining high team morale and productivity.

Action: I provided clear guidance, conducted regular team meetings, and offered training sessions on data collection and analysis techniques. I also managed the project budget and timeline.

Result: The project was completed on time and within budget, with high-quality data collected and analyzed. Team members reported a positive working environment, which was crucial for maintaining high performance and morale.

5. Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct data analysis

Situation: In the project on Soil Characteristics and Land Evaluation for Coconut in South Kalimantan, I was responsible for data analysis and reporting.

Task: I needed to analyze soil data to evaluate its suitability for coconut cultivation.

Action: I employed various statistical methods and data analysis tools to interpret the soil data, identifying key factors affecting soil health and productivity.

Result: The comprehensive reports I drafted provided valuable insights for improving soil management practices, directly contributing to enhanced agricultural productivity. This demonstrates my strong analytical skills and ability to conduct detailed data analysis.

6. Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity

Situation: Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse team settings and have actively promoted inclusive practices.

Task: My goal was to ensure that all team members, regardless of their background, felt valued and included in all project activities.

Action: I implemented inclusive meeting practices, encouraged diverse viewpoints, and ensured that all team members had equal opportunities to contribute and lead initiatives.

Result: This approach fostered a collaborative and supportive team environment, leading to innovative solutions and high project success rates. My commitment to diversity and inclusivity has consistently contributed to effective team dynamics and project outcomes.
