Immune protection of experimental (E)-CM is provided by interleukin (IL)-10 and its supportive cytokines (IL-27, IL-33 and CXCL12), while ECM/CM immunopathology includes apoptotic splenocytes and low splenocyte IL -10- production. Annona muricata leaf extracted using ethanol (AME) treatment associated with increased splenocyte IL-10 production in severe P. Objectives of this study were to determine the effect of AME on cytokines and chemokines that regulate IL-10 production, on apoptotic cytokines and on the diameter of the white pulp spleen of severely PbA-infected Swiss mice.

The statistical analyzes used were One-way ANOVA followed by PostHoc tests for white-pulp diameter and spleen CXCL12 production. Conclusion: The conclusion is that AME increases splenic white-pulp diameter and splenic IL-27-CXCL12 production, which suppresses IFN- production in severely-PbA-infected-Swiss mice. Introduction: Tobacco is a substance that can cause toxic optic neuropathy, which is characterized by decreasing contrast sensitivity and deterioration of color vision. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between blood cotinine, color vision and contrast sensitivity in tobacco farmers frequently exposed to tobacco. Forty-nine tobacco farmers were selected and this study was conducted at harvest time, which is at most the time of tobacco exposure.

All samples underwent ophthalmological examination including visual acuity, fundoscopy, tonometry, Farnsworth Munsell 15-D color vision testing, and contrast sensitivity testing. The Farnsworth Munsell 15-D total error score showed that 40 subjects had good color vision (score 0–16) and 8 subjects had an average color vision score (subjects could not be scored due to congenital color blindness. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between of blood cotinine with color vision as well as contrast sensitivity.

Effects of Circuit Training on Balance in Elderly

Dementia is a cognitive dysfunction that affects memory, communication and behavior, which resulted in the care staff requiring special attention from the elderly. Dementia not only affects the elderly directly, but also the care staff's lives precisely by increasing the burden of care. This research aims to assess the level of caregiving burden, to identify caregiver characteristics and its association with the level of caregiving burden when treating elderly people with dementia in a nursing home.

Methods: A cross-sectional study is conducted with the formal caregiver treating elderly people with dementia in a nursing home. The data collection includes the characteristic of the carer and his burden level in April 2018. The level of caregiver burden is assessed using the Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) with the 22-item instrument.

Gender, age, education and duration of treatment of the elderly are related to the level of formal caregiver burden (p<0.05). Conclusion: The findings of this research are expected to provide a better understanding of how the caregiver of the elderly with dementia is a vital risk group to receive support. Professional help and supportive psychotherapy can be given to this group to reduce their level of burden.

Beta-glucan stimulates immune cells to enhance the innate immunity response, stimulates the production of respiratory bursts and cytokines, and also exhibits antimicrobial properties. The primary cytokines in the process of bacterial infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. Tuberculosis) are Interferon-gamma (IFNγ) and Interleukin 12 (IL-12). This study aimed to investigate the effects of beta-glucan on the production of IFNγ and IL-12 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) induced by M.

Method: In this study, PBMCs were isolated from 11 healthy respondents and cultured in complete RPMI media containing beta-glucan (5 μg/ml). The production of cytokines IFNγ and IL-12 in the supernatant was performed using ELISA technique with an OD of 450 nm. Results: Results identified more significant increases in IFNγ production in groups of PBMCs given beta-glucan than in groups not given beta-glucan (p<0.01), both in cells induced by mutant and wild-type M.

There were no significant differences in mean IFγ production between wild-type mutant and induced PBMCs and non-induced PBMCs (p>0.05). On the other hand, in IL-12 production by PBMCs receiving beta-glucan, there were significant differences in mean values between M mutant-induced and wild-type cells. Furthermore, there were significant mean differences in IFγ production in PBMCs induced by mutant and wild-type M .

Similarly, in IL-12 production by PBMCs that did not receive beta glucan, there were significant mean differences between M mutant-induced and wild-type cells. Conclusion: These results showed that the provision of beta-glucan could improve the performance of immune cells in the production of cytokines, either in cells induced by bacterial DNA or in those that do not receive induction.

Effect of Peer Education on Improving Pregnant Women's Self-Efficacy in Breastfeeding the Baby Siti Mardiyah1, Anggorowati2, Artika Nurrahima3. Introduction: Self-efficacy in breastfeeding mothers is the belief and ability of mothers to provide sufficient milk to their infants. Peer education is education given by friends who have the same status.

Educational methods taught by friends themselves are done through discussion so that participants do not get bored and the material is easy to accept. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of peer education on pregnant women's self-efficacy for breastfeeding babies. The sample in this study consisted of 40 respondents from pregnant women in the intervention group and 40 respondents from pregnant women in the control group.

The instrument used in this research is the breastfeeding instrument self-efficacy scale / BSES, which corresponds to 14 questions in the form of the Likert scale. It is recommended that health care is able to provide health education with peer education method to improve breastfeeding in infants. Results: P-value 0.000<0.005 means that there is significant difference in the intervention group after the peer teaching intervention to increase the self-efficacy of the pregnant mother in breastfeeding.

Conclusion: There is an influence of peer education on improving the self-efficacy of pregnant mother in infant breastfeeding.
