The aim of this study was to evaluate the dosimetric implications of 0-5 cm air gaps between the bolus and the skin for the 1 cm bolus on the surface dose and depth of maximum dose in the solid water phantom and the anthropomorphic phantom. The effect of bolus distance to the surface on surface dose and the change in depth of maximum dose were analyzed in a solid water phantom and an anthropomorphic phantom for different field sizes, using EBT Gafchromic films and the ion chamber. For the field size of 5 × 5 cm2, the surface dose is significantly affected by increasing air gaps larger than 5 mm.
For small fields and 6 MV photon beam, the depth of maximum dose increases with increasing air gap, while for 10 MV beam and smaller field sizes the depth of maximum dose first decreases and then increases with the air gaps. For both 3DCRT and IMRT plans on anthropomorphic phantom, superficial dose reduction is more prominent with increasing air gaps. Special consideration should be taken to minimize air gaps between bolus and skin for field sizes smaller than 10 × 10 cm2.

Qingda granules attenuate angiotensin II-induced cardiac hypertrophy and apoptosis and modulate the PI3K/AKT pathway. QPCR results showed that the mRNA expression of ANP and BNP in the Ang II group was significantly increased, and QDG intervention could significantly reduce the expression of ANP and BNP. In cultured H9C2 cells stimulated with Ang II, QDG partially reversed the increase in cell surface area and number of apoptotic cells, upregulation of hypertrophy markers ANP and BNP, and activation of caspases-9 and -3.
QDG also partially reversed Ang II-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, mitochondrial membrane depolarization, cytochrome C release, Bax upregulation, and decreased p-PI3K, p-AKT, and Bcl-2 levels. Conclusion: These results suggest that QDG can significantly attenuate Ang II-induced hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy, and apoptosis, and may exert these effects in part by suppressing ROS production and activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Formulation of vitamin C gel serum using sodium alginate from brown algae (Sargassum Polycystum) as a gelling agent. At Pailus Beach, brown algae are often found on the beach because they are carried by the waves. To obtain serum gel preparations with good physical properties, the sodium alginate from brown algae could be optimized with wetting agent, such as propylene glycol.
The aim of the research was to determine the yield of sodium alginate produced from brown algae extraction, the effect of sodium alginate as gelling agent and propylene glycol as humectant on the physical properties of vitamin C serum gel, and the optimum ratio between sodium alginate and propylene glycol to provide good physical properties for serum gel vitamin C. The method used to optimize sodium alginate and propylene glycol was the Simplex Latice Design with Design Expert software version 10.0.1. The optimization results obtained the optimum formula with the composition of sodium alginate: propylene glycol wax.

One of the factors that decrease the patients' anxiety level was by providing therapeutic communication to the preoperative patients. Aim: To find out the relationship between the nurse's therapeutic communication and anxiety level in preoperative patients. Results: Most of the nurses' therapeutic communication was very good with the number of 33 people (61.1%).
Correlation between nurse therapeutic communication and anxiety level in preoperative patients with p-value (0.001< 0.05). The nurse had to consider other factors that caused anxiety, especially in patients under 18 years of age who were not employed, were female and had at least primary school education. Recommendation for the nurse to guide therapeutic communication for preoperative patients such as openness, positivity, empathy and support.
