The mandate expires at the annual meeting of the Truot In committee, which will be concluded. Every time the place of boarding is changed, the student must notify the secretary of the faculty. At the 1907 meeting of the American Medical Association in Atlantic City, Vanderbilt's 'Alumni Association A.

The annual meeting is held on the evening of the first day of the meeting of the A. Second floor. The entrance to this main floor of the building is located on Fifth Avenue and is reached by a high flight of stone steps. There is a library of all leading magazines and reference works available for use by the students at no extra cost.

Students are required to attend all exercises of the classes to which they have been admitted. Exams during class time can take place at any time, at the professor's discretion. Instruction in surgery is given to the students of the third and fourth years, who are admitted to the surgical clinics.

Methods of repositioning fractures and dislocations, preparation will be shown. The method introduced last session of having every senior student serve as an intern in the College Hospital will be continued in the coming session. The medical classes are divided so that second-year students teach the relevant subjects, until-.

The studies of the fourth year are taught in the College Hospital through lectures, clinic~ and bedside teaching. The students in this class will also receive instruction in the use of instruments for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in the college's outpatient clinic. The third year class will be given didactic lectures and clinical instruction on diseases of the nose, throat and ear.

In the third year there is a course in Applied Anatomy, in which the systematic study of the normal, living body is taken up. The instruction in Materia Medica and Therapeutics extends over the first two years of the course. This gives each member of the class the opportunity to gain practical experience in midwifery work.

Third-year students receive complete didactic instruction on surgical diseases of the internal organs of the abdomen.

GYNECOLOGY

During operations at the university hospital, they provide anesthesia under the supervision of an experienced anesthetist and provide all assistance. This class also receives a thorough technical course in the laboratory, where, under the guidance of the demonstrator, they have to perform various abdominal operations on the cadaver, but also on lower animals.

PHYSIOLOGY

DISEASES OF CHILDREN

To illustrate the regular course of lectures on venereal diseases, patients suffering from gonorrhea and syphilis in the various stages are exhibited; Specimens of diabetic, albumin and healthy urine are analyzed before class. A thorough course of lectures on hygiene and sanitary sciences is given to the upper classes. The university recognized the importance of knowledge of tropical medicine and included among its major lectures a lecture on the diseases of tropical countries.

MEDIONAL DEPARTMENT 27 Medicine will be clinical and didactic, including microscopic work in parasitology of blood, feces, urine, and helminthology.

PHYSICS

Bedside classes are held for two hours each afternoon in all practical sections of the third and fourth year departments. The arrangement for hospital and clinic patients is second to none; large and airy waiting rooms and numerous consultation rooms available on the first floor in addition to the hospital wards. Adjacent to these rooms are the gynecology, ophthalmology and obstetrics rooms, pharmacy, etherizer and the entrance to the surgery room.

Six general clinics will be held each week at the College Hospital for advanced students, and the third and fourth year classes will be divided into small sections to attend the clinics which will be held daily. We will bring patients from private practices of faculty members to the lecture as often as possible. The external department of the university hospital provides clinics with a lot of interesting material.

One clinic and bedside instruction will be given daily throughout the session at the City Hospital, which is only seven minutes' walk from the medical building, and the third and fourth year classes will participate in these clinics and bedside work. He must have attained the age of twenty-one years, and must maintain a good reputation for moral character. He must have spent four years as a student in this department; or, if only one, two or three years in this institution, he must have completed such studies in another recognized institution as are considered by the faculty to be equivalent.

Founder's Medal. - This is the highest award offered in every department of the university and in the medical department. Appointment - Each year, the Faculty will have two terms available for internships - one in the City Hospital and the other in the Regional Hospital. The first will be the graduate who, in the opinion of the faculty, is the most suitable for filling such a position; the graduate who, in the opinion of the faculty, is the next most suitable for filling this position • is awarded the last-mentioned internship.

The faculty has an annual intern meeting at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. Contrlngenl fee, to cover breakage of the apparatus and damage to the object, which will be returned. Students are required to pay half of their fee by October 15th and the other half by February 15•.
