FOREWORD

Praise and gratitude to the presence of God Almighty because of His grace and grace the author can complete the Job Training Report at the Master Materials Kajang branch office. This report has been compiled after the author went through a series of stages of activities carried out on 20 October 2019 to 16 November 2019.

This report was prepared with the intent to describe the tasks of each unit in the Kajang Master Materials. In addition, this report is also intended to describe what activities have been carried out during the Field Work Practices (PKL) or Internship.

This report will not be perfect without the help of various parties, therefore, the authors would like to thank all those who have helped so that this Field Work Report can be completed. Thank you. The authors say to:

BAB I PRELIMINARY 1.1 Background

Along with the rapid advances in technology and world developments in this era of globalization, the community is demanded to be a quality Human Resources (HR). Quality human resources are expected to become skilled individuals in using technology tools that are increasingly sophisticated and ready to use in certain fields of work. To produce quality human resources, the government and private parties at home and abroad try to educate the workforce, including prospective workers, to become skilled human resources in their respective fields. One of the institutions used by the government to build quality human resources is a university.

In order to support the development of HR, Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University as one of the private tertiary institutions strives to develop HR into a skilled and ready-to-use workforce that can support national development. In addition to the teaching and learning process in the campus environment that provides theory for students, activities such as internships that can provide work experience and can prepare students to be more agile, responsive and competent in the field of science they pursue so as to improve the quality, expertise and readiness of students to enter the workforce later.

This internship has two important elements, namely Education and Research.

Educational activities are achieved by introducing students to the world of work directly so students can get to know the activities carried out and feel the atmosphere of working in an institution or agency. Research activities are achieved by teaching students to formulate a problem faced in the world of work and then directed to be able to find solutions to these problems. Thus students can learn to evaluate theories that have been learned and compare them with what is available in the field, so they can give an idea of what students must be prepared as prospective workers to enter the workforce.

1.2 The Purpose Of The Internship

This internship basically aims to add insight and develop knowledge that has been obtained while sitting in lectures and apply it in the world of work. Other objectives of this internship are:

a. To help students gain work experience.

b. To improve and develop students' knowledge and skills.

c. As a benchmark and proof of the quality and quantity of student intelligence.

d. To help students to be able to understand non-academic concepts in the world of work.

e. As a benchmark for interacting and socializing with things that are in the work environment.

1.3 Benefits of Internship

This internship has benefits for students, universities and related institutions or agencies. The benefits of this internship include the following:

1. For Students

a. Can gain practical experience and get to know the world of work.

b. Can train students to work together in teams with various types of people.

c. Can train students mentally to be more mature and responsible in carrying out a job.

d. Can apply the knowledge and skills acquired during college as a comparison between accepted theories and existing practice in the field.

e. Can foster a professional attitude as a provision for students to enter the workforce

f. Can train and improve discipline.

2. For University

a. Can introduce students to the world of work.

b. Can prepare human resources (students) who are able to compete.

c. Can foster good relations with the institutions or agencies involved.

d. As an evaluation to develop and improve the quality of education.

3. For Related Institutions Or Agenciesa.

a. Can be used as a means to bridge between institutions or agencies with universities or institutions to collaborate both academically and non- academically

b. Can get relief at work because with the job trainees of Master Materials employees can be helped so that the work will be more effective and efficient.

1.4 Place and Time of Implementation

This internship was held at the Kajang Master Materials, Selangor Malaysia.

starting from September 20, 2019 to November 15, 2019 with the following working hours:

Monday-Thursday : At 08.00 – 17.30 Friday : At 08.00 - 17.00 Take a Rest At .00 – 13.00 Saturday-sunday : Day off

BAB II DISCUSSION 2.1 Master Materials Contracting Sdn. Bhd.

2.1.1 History Master Material

Master Materials Contracting was founded in 1979. It has since grown its business rapidly and is today a dynamic and leading player in the decorative concrete industry in Malaysia. Over the past decades, Master Materials Contracting has established a strong foothold in the marketplace having successfully undertaken many major and prominent projects in the commercial and residential sectors.

Master Materials Contracting has sustained a well established winning track record in the industry through its capacity to deliver value-added services to clients via the following hallmarks of the Company:

 proven and efficient operational systems;

 dedicated and experienced team of on-site supervisory and installation personnel;

 proactive and close liaison with the clients’ project and design teams;

 robust quality control technical processes; and

 reliable after-sales follow-ups and services.

2.1.2 Business Activities & Organization Capabilities

The principal activity of the Company is in the supply & installation of Decorative Concrete Products for Commercial and Residential projects.

The Company has a strong commitment to ensuring quality work through employing a dedicated and highly experienced on-site supervisory and installation workforce of some 60 strong, which has been built up over many decades of engaging successfully in many major and complex projects throughout the country.

This dedicated on-site team works closely and extensively with the in-house sales

& marketing and technical & quality control support teams to ensure the Company sustains its capacity to deliver value-added services and solutions to our clients.

2.1.3 Schedule Activities and Rules of Master Materials No Student Code of Conduct / Internship

4 Leaving the place or leaving the office must ask permission from officials or staff at the work unit where the street vendors are implementing.

Implemention Intership in Master Materials Contracting Sdn. Bhd.

3.1 Participant

3.2.1 Place

Internship activities carried out at the agency:

Alamat : No 13, Jalan Impian, Taman Impian Ehsan, 43300 Seri Kembangan, Selanggor Dahrul Ehsan, Malaysia.

3.2.2 Time for Internship

Implementation of street vendors / Internships are carried out starting October 21, 2019 and ending on November 15, 2019 with a total of 20 working days. The implementation time is five working days each week from Monday to Friday. This is adjusted and follows the working hours that apply in the scope of work at the Master Materials Branch Office. Every working day is 08.00 - 17.30. I was placed in the Marketing Unit..

BAB IV

MASTER MATERIALS DECORATIVE CONCRETE PRODUCT

4.1 Bacground

The principal activity of the Company is in the supply & installation of Decorative Concrete Products for Commercial and Residential projects. The Company has a strong commitment to ensuring quality work through employing a dedicated and highly experienced on-site supervisory and installation workforce of some 60 strong, which has been built up over many decades of engaging successfully in many major and complex projects throughout the country. This dedicated on-site team works closely and extensively with the in-house sales &

marketing and technical & quality control support teams to ensure the Company sustains its capacity to deliver value-added services and solutions to our clients.

4.2 Product Introdction

 MASTERPAV Products & Applications

Master Materials Contracting works closely with its connected company, Master Materials Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., a leading manufacturer of decorative concrete paving products via its primary brand of MASTERPAV, which is today amongst the leading brands widely in use in the local industry with a market presence since the early 80’s.

No more putting concrete in a box and limiting what it can do. You can achieve the same look as brand new concrete by resurfacing, staining, applying overlays and so much more.

The first is to pour the liquid material into forms at the building site; this is so- called in situ concrete. Elements are manufactured on site and hence it is difficult to control mix, placement and curing.

4.3 Past Commercial Project Experience

Master Materials Contracting has an extensive experience in the installation of decorative concrete products in commercial projects for the past 30 years.
