a. CPT = ceftaroline; CPT MIC results obtained by Etest at the local microbiology laboratory, while other MIC results were obtained at JMI Laboratories (North Liberty, IA, USA) using reference broth microdilution method.
*All MRSA isolates were resistant to methicillin, clindamycin, erythromycin and levofloxacin; and sensitive to vancomycin (MIC 0.5-1 μg/ml), linezolid, daptomycin, gentamicin and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole.
