Summary of Assessment Report of the RSPO Certification
Status
The company has adopted a Resolution of the Board of Directors of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV No. The company has set minimum wages in accordance with the determination of the government's minimum wage, namely the Simalungun and Asahan Regulations Minimum Wages in 2019.
Status
Based on the above data, it is determined that Sei Kopas Estate has no HGU in the size of 2408 hectares. Meanwhile, the identification of training needs for workers in the Tonduhan Unit and the Sei Kopas Unit is yet to be demonstrated. The company has not been able to demonstrate that the identification of training needs has been carried out in accordance with the needs of employees in each type of work and the employee training program that has covered all aspects contained in the principles and criteria of the RSPO. The company has not been able to show periodic monitoring/surveillance reports on the status of RTE (Rare, Endangered and Threatened) and HCV species on Sei Kopas Estate.
The company has not been able to tell the socialization program the protected, rare, endangered species status of all workers for the Sei Kopas Estate unit. Field observations at the location of Pasir Mandoge Mill and Sei Kopas Estate revealed that household waste was dumped in the backyard.

The company shows the records of shells, fibers and empty bunches used from January - September 2019. Use of fire for waste removal and for preparing land for replanting is avoided except in specific situations, as identified in the ASEAN Guidelines or other regional best practice. Based on the field observation after block 90F Section 2, it was found that there was a replanting activity in September 2019.
Aspects of plantation and mill management, including replanting, that have social impacts are identified in a participatory manner, and plans to mitigate negative impacts and promote positive ones are developed, implemented and monitored to demonstrate continuous improvement. In addition to identifying social impacts, the study also provides management and monitoring plans/recommendations to increase positive impacts and reduce existing negative impacts.

In the procedure, it was established that the complaints from the parties were forwarded to the management unit through HR and the General Assistant. If the complaint cannot be resolved, the unit manager will hand it over to the Business Unit Group Manager and then forward it to the directors at PTPN IV headquarters. Based on document verification, there is historical land dispute in Tonduhan Estate year of 2017 and it was resolved, while in Pasir Mandoge Estate there is land dispute which is settled on the period from 2005 to 2007 for the 339 persons with area 903.04 Ha.

The company's recognition of the freedom of association for employees is stated in the collective labor contract, especially in articles 5 - 9. The workers' organizations found in the company are Biparti and the Labor Union. From the interviews conducted with residents of the village, it is known that the community has received a positive contribution from the existence of the company.
Based on the results of the assessment carried out, there were no issues related to forced labor or human rights violations occurring in the company's operating environment. Based on the results of interviews with worker representatives, the village community representatives found out from the contractor's representatives that the human rights policy had been submitted by the company.

The company has been sent the liability statement for Pasir Mandoge Estate, Sei Kopas & Tonduhan Estate, based on the email from RSPO on 11 September 2019, it is not known to have any liability for Pasir Mandoge Estate, Sei Kopas & Tonduhan Estate. Based on document verification and site visits, it was found that there were no new development areas. The use of fire in the preparation of new plantings is avoided except in specific situations, as identified in ASEAN guidelines or other regional best practices.
The company facilitates workers with proper housing, electricity facilities and the availability of clean water in every publicly available housing. The company is also committed to avoiding acts of discrimination, sexual harassment, child labor or any violation of human rights in the work environment.

Results of document verification and interviews with management provided information that there are contractors involved in the transportation process of CSPO, namely CV Pelita Jaya with agreement number 04.09/S.Perj/04/I/2019 dated January 2, 2019 to December 31, 2019. In the The contract document states that all products are legally owned, with the carrier only responsible for transportation to the destination stated in the delivery document. Meanwhile, the working agreement explained that CV Pelita Jaya & CV Karya Mandiri run an international system in the transportation of palm oil and palm kernel oil and meet all the requirements of the RSPO Supply Chain and Palm Kernel Oil and are willing to be audited by a certification body that designated by the first party.
The contract document stated that the entire product is legally owned, the carrier is only responsible for shipping to. Meanwhile in the working agreement it was explained that CV Pelita Jaya runs an international system in the transportation of palm oil and palm oil and complies with all the requirements of the RSPO and palm oil Supply Chain and is ready to be audited by a Body first-party-appointed certifier.
