Continuously improving the quality of teaching and learning to meet stakeholder demands is the ultimate goal of the Undergraduate Program in Accounting (UPA) FEUI. Some of the supporting data and documents referred to in this SAR have been collected in the SAR AUN - Undergraduate Program in Accounting book with appendices to this book.

PROFILE OF UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IN ACCOUNTING

In 2009, the management of the UPA was separated from the DoA, but still under the guidance of the DoA. This period marked the beginning of the development of Competency Based Curriculum for the UPA.

TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGY

Teaching Strategy Based on Competence-based Curriculum

In line with the university's vision to become a world-class research university, UPA developed a curriculum that included research as part of the learning process. One of the subjects that specifically teaches students about research is Accounting Research Method, which is UPA's compulsory course (see appendix 2.1).

Learning Method Based on Student-Centered Learning Method

Experiential learning (EL) is different because the learning process is obtained through direct experience of the students. UPA, together with the faculty, has improved internet access for students with a WiFi network that is accessible from all parts of the Universitas Indonesia campus.

Operations of the Delivery of Curriculum Materials

During the period workshops/training sessions were attended by members of the academic staff of DSH. Academic Staff (Evaluasi Dosen oleh Mahasiswa/EDOM) through the university's academic system program (SIAK-NG).

STUDENT ASSESMENT

Student Enrollment

The national selection process also known as SNMPTN which stands for Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (a national selection to enter a public university). It is a selection process carried out in collaboration by the Ministry of National Education - Directorate General of Higher Education and all public universities in Indonesia.

Student Academic Assessment

In order for the student to graduate by the end of the study period, he must meet the following conditions: a) obtain at least 145 credit points, including the final assignment; b). At the final exam, the student presents the results of his research and defends his opinion in front of three examiners. Students completing the final assignment must meet regularly with their mentors, at least ten times during the process.

Assessment of the final assignment will consist of marks for the written report, including the writing process and theories used, as well as the presentation made to the examiners, which demonstrates the students' ability to give ideas and defend opinions and to to answer basic questions related to their task. Like other subjects, the capstone also requires students to earn at least a C to pass.

ACADEMIC STAFF QUALITY

  • Qualifications & Competencies of Academic Staff
  • Sufficientcy of Academic Staff
  • Recruitment and Promotion of Teaching Staff
  • Roles of Academic Staff
  • Obligation of Academic Staff
  • Time Management and Incentive System
  • Academic Staff Accountability
  • Policies pertaining to Review, Consultation and Transfer
  • Termination, Re-Employment, and Retirement Systems
  • Appraisal System

Use the Evaluation Dosen oleh Mahasiswa/EDOM (Student Evaluation of Academic Staff) to assess the performance of academic staff. The promotion of academic staff is proposed by the DoA on the basis of their teaching, research and community service activities. The academic staff is classified into dosen inti prēšanīci (research-core academic staff), dosen inti semperhān (teaching-core academic staff), dosen inti struktural (structural-core academic staff) and dosen schema lain (other academic staff). .

They are (a) Teaching material, (b) Teaching methods, (c) Classroom management and (d) Assessment process done by academic staff. More detailed academic staff performance indicators can be seen in Appendix 6.15.

SUPPORT STAFF QUALITY

  • Competency and Adequacy of Library Staff
  • Competency and Adequacy of Laboratory Staff
  • Competency and Adequacy of Computer Facility Staff
  • Competency and Adequacy of Student Service Staff
  • Evaluation System

Thus, while the total number of support staff (library staff, computer facilities staff and student support staff) is 185 and the total number of academic staff is 135, the ratio of academic staff/support staff is 1:1.37. The remuneration of the support staff follows the policy established by the FEUI via Deans Decree No. At university level, prizes are also awarded to support staff who perform the best.

The best performing faculty-level support staff may be nominated as a University-level award recipient candidate through University-level selection. The termination system follows the rules and code of ethics applicable to support staff at Faculty and University levels.

Study Load and Performance

For each course, one credit is translated into one hour of lecture or academic interaction, one hour of guidance or structured activity and one hour of independent investigation per week (reading assignment or other assignment). For the bachelor's programme, the study load is converted to a credit system with a total of 145 credit points, which are distributed over 8 academic semesters. The number of credits students can take in a semester is determined by their grade point average (GPA) for the previous semester.

Overall, the majority of students (> 60%) managed to complete their studies in four years or less. It can be seen that the first year students of UPA can handle the study load.

STUDENT ADVICE AND SUPPORT

  • Student Monitoring System
  • Student Coaching and Counseling
  • Student Support on Academic Matters
  • Student Service and Facilities

Other information about academic activities, available scholarships or job vacancies can also be accessed through the information boards in the FEUI building or www.fe.ui.ac.id. UI also provides buildings named "Pusgiwa" at Depok Campus and "Balai Mahasiswa" at Salemba Campus for the secretariat offices of the Student Executive Body (BEM/University Student Union) or a place for other student activities units (UKM/Activity Student Unit). UI also offers bikes and bike path on campus covering a total length of 20 km.

This bike is an alternative form of transportation on campus that can also serve as additional sports facilities. In January 2010, around 400 bicycles are available for UI's students and employees in the 17 bus shelters.

FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Classrooms
  • Library
    • The University Library
    • FEUI Resource and Learning Center
    • Resource and Learning Center DoA
  • Online Database
  • Media and Information System
    • Information Media
    • Hot Zone and Hot Spot FEUI
  • Environmental Health and Safety Standard56
    • The Standard Operation Procedure for Security

This library is connected to the faculty's resource learning and can be accessed by all the university's students. The university's location can be seen in appendix 10.3, while the list of services and facilities can be found in appendix 10.4. This is a supporting facility of the university library whose main function is to supply textbooks required for certain subjects.

The DoA's Resource and Learning Center is a place for academic staff to find references to support their teaching process or conduct their research. The result of the survey (to be found in appendix 7.2) given to students of the third grade (batch and 2011) shows that students are reasonably satisfied with the hotspot/wireless facility at FEUI.

QUALITY ASSURANCE OF TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS

  • Curriculum Development
  • Student Involvement
  • Stakeholders and Labor Market Involvement
  • Course and Curriculum Evaluation
  • Feedback of Course and Curriculum for Improvement
  • Quality Assurance

At the end of the year, the result of the survey will be documented in the program's annual report and will serve as feedback for curriculum evaluation. Academic staff make good use of the lecturer mailing list to discuss problems in the lecture hall and generate solutions to address them. On the other hand, the curriculum and the BRP of the courses are evaluated and revised every beginning of the new semester.

Evaluation of the curriculum structure, including additions or dropping of courses, is done in coordination with the Department. The student evaluation result is compiled by the program coordinator and analyzed based on each criterion.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

  • Development Activities: Academic Staff
  • Training Activities: Academic Staff
  • Development Activities: Support Staff
  • Training Activities: Support Staff
  • Budget Allocation for Staff Development Activities

Several decrees have been issued to support the development of academic staff in the form of grants. The topic or focus of the training may be proposed by academic staff members or may also be suggested by DASH. Participation in these external seminars/training programs is usually relevant to the teaching area/discipline of the DSH academic staff members.

This can be seen in Appendix table 12.8 showing that the details of each development activity were dedicated to academic staff members. Referring to the trend of the last two years, the budget allocation for the year 2012 in the amount of Rp remains mostly heavy on the components of academic staff members attending international seminars and conferences.

STAKEHOLDERS FEEDBACK

Feedback from The Labour Market

Feedback from The Students and Alumni

The result of EDOM evaluation is treated as feedback to evaluate the teaching material (first part of the EDOM), thus feedback to curriculum evaluation, while other sections in EDOM are used to evaluate lecturer's performance in the UPA and serve as input in considering the assignment of academic staff in the following semester. As for the academic staff themselves, EDOM will be a good feedback to continuously improve their performance. After graduating, UPA graduates will be a member of UI Alumni Association (Ikatan Alumni - ILUNI) and the FEUI Alumni Association (ILUNI FEUI).

Through this alumni association, they were able to provide UPA with their feedback based on their experience in their workplace. One important contribution of the alumni association is the provision of scholarships to UPA's students as well as the children of UPA's support staff.

Feedback from The Staff

The components assessed in EDOM cover learning materials, learning process, classroom management and study assessment. Feedback from graduates has shown a significantly high level of satisfaction with the quality of the undergraduate study program in Accounting. Some even recommended the Accounting Undergraduate Studies Program as the place to learn business and accounting knowledge, with a score of 5.87 out of a maximum of 7.

OUTPUT

  • The Pass Rate and Dropout Rate
  • Average Time to Graduate
  • Employability of Graduates
  • Research Activities by Academic Staff and Students

This just shows that students who attend lectures and follow the learning process in the program that comes from the KSDI channel need to improve their learning ability to keep up with the standards set by the program. The study periods of those who graduate in odd semesters are always shorter compared to those who graduate in even semesters as the majority of those who graduate in odd semesters are those who managed to complete the total study in 3.5 years to round. Based on the survey conducted in the year 2008, it was found out that the average waiting time for graduates before finally landing a job was 1.76 months.

In summary, the number of studies presented at seminars or conferences and also published by scientific staff in the period between 2006 and 2012 is shown in the table in Appendix 14.3. In addition to publishing research results, the team of scientific staff also published their writings in the form of books, parts of books or other media (including newspapers).

STAKEHOLDERS SATISFACTION

The SWOT analysis in this chapter is a global SWOT measure that summarizes the SWOT of the program. This SWOT analysis would be further converted into strategies that are partially implemented and integrated into the future plans of the program. Orientation of academic staff is still focused on teaching, and insufficient research and community development activities are carried out.

Some academic staff have demonstrated their research achievements at an international level, opening up more opportunities to collaborate with other researchers from renowned institutions. Advancement of research and dedication of academic staff from other state/private universities resulting in better academic achievements which threaten the reputation of FEUI.
