AU, ASC announce annual Hot Dog Day events 4/03/08
Alfred University and Alfred State College will host the 36th annual Hot Dog Day(s) Friday, April 25 and Saturday, Saturday, April 26.Events begin Friday at 5 p.m. with the Pine Hill Derby, where you can watch your favorite
engineers race down the hill. Following this event, there will be an ice-cream bash in the Alfred Fire Hall at 6 p.m. To kick off Hot Dog Day events on Saturday, there will be a Fun Bun Run/ Walk beginning at 10 a.m. at the Village Bandstand, Main Street, followed by the parade starting at noon. Also beginning at noon there will be a festival that runs from through 5 p.m. on Main Street. There will be game booths, food vendors, hot dog stands, inflatable rides and an arts and crafts fair.Bands will perform throughout the day at the Bandstand. Also on Saturday, there will be Mud- Olympics at 2 p.m. on Tucker Field, on the Alfred University campus. The charities selected to receive the profits from the day's events are: A.E. Crandall Hook and Ladder Co., Alfred Box of Books Library, Alfred Montessori School, Alfred Station Fire Co., Allegany County Chapter of the American Red Cross, Allegany County Mental Health Association, Alfred State College's Backpack Buddies Program, and Genesee Valley Habitat for Humanity.For more information on the weekend's events, go to http://www.alfred.edu/com....
