Introduction This article explores the teachers' perception of using Project Based Learning (PBL) in mathematic class. It aims to give a new paradigm on how to use PBL in teaching and learning, especially in learning mathematic. In other words this article tells about teachers should be able to choose and use learning strategies in accordance with the material to be delivered, with clear objectives to be achieved. Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a learning model that is conceptualized on a process, timed, problem-focused, meaningful learning unit by integrating concepts from a number of components of knowledge, discipline and collaborative learning activities. So, students are expected to interact with teachers and study groups to find solutions of the problems.
Background of Article
According to English and Kitsantas (2013), teachers must be able to select and apply learning strategies that are appropriate for the topic they will be teaching. Although every learning technique has advantages and disadvantages from different perspectives, all learning strategies, methods, and models must ultimately have defined goals in order to be successful (Kurzel & Rath, 2007).
Because students' interests are so diverse, a teacher should preferably employ a multimethod approach, which involves changing the classroom's chosen learning model. This is done to keep students from becoming bored (Tamim & Grant, 2013).
Students employ all of their fundamental skills and knowledge in this process to gather information and achieve their learning objectives. Students attempt to identify and address any problems that are currently present (Amamou & Cheniti-Belcadhi, 2018). in order for students to acquire knowledge and experience that genuinely matter, rather than simply learning objectives in terms of values.
