TIME

It is important to help each student set goals and provide informative feedback on progress toward the goals. It also directs the learner's activities towards the goal and provides the opportunity to experience success. Affiliation can also result in an immediate reduction in anxiety through social acceptance and the mere presence of others.

Finally, it must be said that there is a large gap between the recognition that learning must be motivated and the identification of the specific motivational components of any given act. Instructors should focus on learning patterns of motivation for an individual or group, understanding that mistakes will be common. Positively confront the beliefs, expectations, and possibly mistaken assumptions that may underlie a negative student attitude.
