In interrogative sentences, the auxiliary verbs DOEN and DOEN are used at the beginning of the sentences. Statements about rules of nature and how the world is are in the present simple tense. I leave Frankfurt at 5 in the morning and arrive in New York at midnight the next day.

In the negative form of the present continuous tense, not is simply added to the sentence after the auxiliary verb BE ( am, is, are). In interrogative sentences, the auxiliary verbs AM, IS, ARE are used at the beginning of the sentence. Sometimes we use the Present Continuous to say that we are in the process of doing a longer action that is ongoing; but we may not be doing that right now.

The Present Continuous Tense is often used to describe an action or event in the future that has already been planned or prepared. In (d) the verb "have" has an active meaning and is used in the progressive form. f) The little girl is smelling the flowers. In sentence (a) you can understand or infer that the person watches TV most evenings regularly. You can generalize it.

Sometimes the main verb be + an adjective is used in the progressive form when describing temporary, ongoing behavior.

3-SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE

  • Form of Simple Future Tense: WILL
  • Form of Simple Future Tense: BE GOING TO
  • Using Simple Future Tense: Will vs. Be Going To
  • Using Present Continuous for Future
  • Using Simple Present for Future
  • Future Time Clauses with “Before, After, When”
  • Present plans for future activities

She is going to watch the film on the TV after she finishes her homework. The sentences with "going" express the idea that someone intends and plans to do something in the future. When the speaker expresses a past plan (something the speaker intends to do in the future because she/he made a plan or decision to do it in the past.) "be going to" is used.

When they get to the hotel, they will jump into the pool. In general, when the speaker makes a prediction (a statement about something that s/he thinks will be true or will happen in the future), either "will" or "will go" is possible. In this usage, the meaning is the same as the future tense form "to go to".

Present continuous is used to express future time when the sentence concerns a certain plan, a certain purpose, a certain future activity. Verbs such as go, arrive, arrive, stay, leave are often used in the present tense to express future time. Verbs that express planned means of transport in the future are also often used in the present tense; for example, fly, walk, drive, ride, take (taxi, bus, etc.).

The simple present can express future time when events occur according to a certain schedule or timetable. Future tense clauses always use the simple present tense; future forms are NEVER used in tense clauses.

SIMPLE PAST TENSE

1 . PAST FORM OF “BE”

2 . FORM OF THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE

USE OF THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE

The Simple Past can be used with a duration that starts and stops in the past. The Simple Past can also be used to describe a habit that has stopped in the past. To make it clear that we are talking about a habit, we often use expressions such as 'always'.

As mentioned above, time clauses cannot be used alone because they are not complete sentences that have a complete meaning. Please note that if the time clause is used before the main clause, a comma is used after the time clause.

6. “WHEN” IN TIME CLAUSES

  • PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
  • Form Of Present Perfect Tense
  • Use Of Present PerfectTense
  • Using SINCE and FOR
  • Using ALREADY, YET, JUST, EVER and NEVER
  • PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
  • Form Of The Past Continuous Tense

In the positive sentence form of the Present Perfect Tense, the auxiliary verbs have / has + V3 are used after the subject. HE SHE . . he didn't eat hamburger, he didn't write the letter, he didn't wash the car. I YOU AND THEM. I didn't eat hamburger, I didn't write the letter, I didn't wash the car.

In the negative form of the present perfect tense, not is simply added to the sentence after the helping verbs has/have. In interrogative sentences, the auxiliary verbs have / has are used at the beginning of the sentence. When used with for , since until now, until now, until now the present perfect tense refers to an action that began in the past and continues into the present.

Jane didn't call me today. e) The present perfect tense refers to the actions that were completed in the very recent past. Since expresses the idea that an activity began at a specific time in the past and continues to the present. Since is followed by the mention of a specific time such as an hour, a day, a month, year or an event that occurred at a specific time in the past.

When for is used with the present perfect tense, it also means that the action started in the past and continues in the present. However, it expresses the idea that something has not happened so far (up to this time), but may happen in the future. In the negative form of the past continuous, no is simply added to the sentence after the auxiliary verb BE (was / were).

In interrogative sentences, the auxiliary verbs WAS, WERE are used at the beginning of the sentence.

2 . Use Of The Past Continuous Tense

  • Using Time Clauses in Past Continuous Tense “When - While – As”
  • PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
  • Form of Present Perfect Tense
  • Use of Present Perfect Continuous Tense
  • Present Continuous Vs. Present Perfect Continuous

I he she it. eat a hamburger? have breakfast? playing soccer? .. we you they . eat a hamburger? have breakfast? playing soccer?. In the positive sentence form of the Present Perfect Continuous Tense, the auxiliary verbs have been / has been + VING are used after the subject. In the negative form of the Present Perfect Continuous Tense, not is simply added to the sentence after the auxiliary verbs has been / have been.

Use of Present Perfect Continuous Tense .. a) Present Perfect Continuous Tense indicates the duration of an activity that started in the past and continues in the present. When time has this meaning, it is used with time words such as from, for, all morning, all day, all week, etc. a. On the other hand, the present perfect tense is used to express the duration of an activity that is happening.

While the present perfect singular is used to express completed actions and their results at present, the present perfect continuous tense is most often used to indicate the duration of an activity. In other words, if it is important to express that the activity has been completed, Present Perfect Simple is used; if it is important to express the duration and the activity itself, Present Perfect Continuous Tense is used. With certain verbs such as live, work and learn, there is little or no difference in meaning between the two tenses when since or for is used.

By the time we get to Istanbul, I will have been driving for over 8 hours. By the end of this week, I will have been waiting seventeen weeks for my phone to be repaired. We will have flown non-stop for fourteen hours before we get to Hawaii.

We often use the Future Perfect Simple with by, at the time and not ….until/until to show that an action will already have been completed at a certain time in the future. We use the present perfect tense with verbs that indicate completion, such as complete, finish, retire, etc. I will have finished the project when you arrive at the office tomorrow morning.
