Elections at STRI
STRI employees will be able to vote for representatives to the STRI Com pany Committee (STRI, CE) from Mon, Feb 28 to Thu, Mar 2 at 12 noon. These two representatives will work with two members of the STRI administration designated by the Office of the Director in matters concerning the welfare of employees, and to guarantee communication between the organization and employees. Instructions for voting and list of candidates are on page 2.
Los empleados podrán votar para elegir dos representantes para el Comité de Empresas de STRI, CE, del del lunes 28 de febrero al jueves 2 de marzo a mediodía. Estos representantes trabajarán junto con dos miembros de la administración de STRI designados por la Oficina del Director para ocuparse de asuntos relacionados con el bienestar de los empleados y la comunicación entre la organización y los empleados.

Visitors and students planning to leave the country between Mar 5-15 who need a “paz y salvo” and exit permits, please contact Celideth de León next week. Public offices will close from Monday, March 8 through Thursday, March 11.

Instructions
Habrá una urna en la recepción de cada sitio de trabajo, junto con las papeletas. Las votaciones serán en horas laborables.
Se permitirá elegir sólo dos candidatos por papeleta.
Luego de votar, el empleado firmará y anotará la fecha en una lista de control.
Se les permitirá votar por correo electrónico, FAX, o teléfono a empleados de Bocas del Toro, Cerro Juan Díaz, Sardinilla, Fortuna, y Chagres.
Se podrá votar del lunes 28 de febrero hasta el mediodía del jueves 2 de marzo para facilitar que todos voten.
El conteo de votos será el jueves 2 de marzo a partir del mediodía en el Salón de Conferencias de Tupper.
Cualquier empleado podrá
presenciar el conteo. Los votos serán apuntados en el tablero. Al finalizar el conteo se hará un acta proclamando a los dos principales y los 2 suplentes que formarán parte del Comité de Empresas.
Los dos que tengan más votos serán los principales, y los suplentes serán los del tercer y cuarto lugar.
El acta será firmada por los miembros de la Comisión de Elecciones y los resultados serán anunciados al día siguiente. Los candidatos son los siguientes:

Use of athletic facilities
Persons interested in using the athletic facilities at Florida State University, Panama Canal College Campus, please contact Nélida Gómez. Normally the rates are
$40 per month per person, but the STRI community will be charged
$25 if the group is more than 5 or
$20 if the group is more than 10 persons. The facilities can be used from Monday through Thursday
from 9am to 9pm and Friday 9am to 4pm. It includes a gymnasium, weight room, men and women’s lockers, rental of equipment and track/field.
