This research was conducted to find out how students perceive the use of a task-based language teaching strategy in teaching writing. The results of the survey and interview showed that the majority of students had a positive perception of language teaching with tasks.

The reason why the researcher takes the students' perception of the method in teaching writing needs to be studied, because the success of teaching and learning in writing is influenced by the students' perception. Positive or negative perceptions can be identified by knowing the students' reactions to the teaching method. Standing on the background of the above study, the explanation of this research is the perception of students when using task-based language teaching in learning writing by answering the question, "What is the perception of the students.
Here students' perception means the students' opinion about the use of Task-Based Language Teaching in the teaching of writing. During this phase, a teacher can introduce the students to the language they need to complete the task.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

The similarity between the previous study and this study is that both studies used Task-Based Language Teaching as the method of teaching writing. It aims to find out what types of written feedback from the teacher the teacher uses when teaching writing to the students of the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Wedi in the academic year and to find out the perception of the students towards written feedback from the teacher on their . Otherwise, the differences in these studies are the previous study that discussed the students' perception of the teacher's written feedback.
Also the participants in this study are the eleventh grade students, while the high school students are the participants in the previous study. More than that, this research aims to know the students' perception of the method of teaching writing.

It has nine rooms, where there are two offices and seven rooms for classrooms39. It is located in the countryside. But the achievements of the students are the same as in other schools, for example, the second winner at the regional level of the brainstorming competition, the first winner of the Semafor-morse competition at the regional level. Also, students are often selected by the government of Central Lombok to accompany national scouting activities.
This school has two English teachers, with one teacher teaching eleventh grade and the other teaching two classes, tenth and twelfth grade. In this research, the researcher chose eleventh grade as the field of study because the English teacher in this grade used the teaching strategy used by the researcher. In addition, there were fifteen pupils in the eleventh grade, namely six boys and nine girls.
So it was important to know their argument about the method used by their English teacher. In this pandemic situation, it also helped the researcher to research because this school is still doing the teaching and learning process offline or face-to-face.

Meanwhile, the secondary date was the date that refers to the material of the research. The data can be obtained from the school, e-book, manual, article, journal or thesis. The secondary data of this research was the data that the researcher got from the head master of SMA Islam Al-Ma'arif Pandan Indah and the lesson plan of the tenth grade students.
Procedure of Data Collection
The interview questions addressed students' perceptions of the use of task-based language instruction in teaching writing. Results of questionnaires on students' perceptions of On the use of task-based language teaching in teaching writing. Each sample has different opinions about the merits of task-based language teaching in teaching writing.
The result of the analysis showed that students had positive responses to the use of task-based language learning in teaching writing. The use of task-based language teaching supports the teaching and learning process in the writing classroom.

Then, the researcher analyzed and calculated the responses in percentage which was placed in the table. Richard and Rodger stated that task-based language teaching was an approach based on the use of tasks as the essential unit of planning and instruction in language teaching77. Using the task in task-based language learning made it easier for students to understand the materials in the instructional writing, because before doing the tasks, they read the material in the instructional writing.
Furthermore, the researcher found out from the result of the table that the students had positive perceptions of the use of task-based language teaching in the teaching of writing. In depth, 53% of students felt that task-based language learning was an appropriate method for learning writing. So, it has made the teaching and learning process in the writing class more effective, and it has made it easier for students to understand the materials in teaching writing. It was proved by 100% of the students who agreed that through the task-based language teaching strategy, the materials in teaching writing can be easier to understand.
Discussion of the Interview
As mentioned earlier, this study aimed to find out students' perceptions of the use of task-based language teaching in writing writing lessons for eleventh grade students of the SMA Islam Al-Ma'arif Pandan Indah. The result of the questionnaire and the interview showed that the students have a positive perception of the use of task-oriented language teaching in writing learning. The statements of the students indicate that they agree positively with using task-oriented language teaching as the teaching strategy in teaching writing.
Based on the results of this research, most of the students have a positive perception of writing teaching through task-based language teaching. So this research is hoped to inspire future researchers to carry out the same field on the use of task-based language teaching strategy. Future research can investigate the use of task-based language teaching in other classes, such as reading, speaking or listening class.
The use of task-based language teaching facilitates the understanding of the teacher's explanation of the material when teaching written material. Because of the use of the task in task-based language teaching, I read the material more often in the teaching of written language. In this part, the researcher wants to conclude the information obtained in the previous chapters. There were fifteen respondents to the questionnaires, and five respondents to the interview. In the lesson, the teacher used a task-based language teaching strategy, which refers to an approach based on the use of tasks as the central unit of planning and teaching in language teaching (Richard & Rodgers)82.
The last, it facilitated and motivated them to learn to write during the teaching and learning process of writing in class, and when they completed their writing tasks at home. Finally, from the data analyzed, the researcher comes to the conclusion that the use of task-based language teaching as additional support for the teaching of writing brings a positive impact on the students. Moreover, the positive perceptions of the students indicate the potential of TBLT as additional support for teaching writing to increase the students' skills in teaching writing.
