Purpose : This study aimed to examine students' perceptions of the use of Quizizz as a formative test tool in German classrooms at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

Method : A descriptive qualitative research design was used in this study, in which data were collected from questionnaires.

(2)

Sample : The participants of this study were first-year students studying German who were given a formative test using Quizizz for one semester.

Result : The results showed that all aspects asked in the questionnaire received a strong positive response, indicating that students have a very good perception of Quizizz in the classroom.

Advantages : Strengths: Apart from paying attention to the relationship between vocabulary use and students' reading, this research also looks at the results and pays attention to the relationship between vocabulary mastery and students' reading comprehension.

Drawback : This study does have the limitations of a small sample size (participants were approximately the same age and had similar proficiency profiles) for the relationship between vocabulary practice and reading comprehension.

Purpose : The main aim of the English language teaching curriculum is to develop students' communication skills. Therefore, to achieve this goal, the effective integration of the four English macro skills and language elements can be considered as a core task in English language teaching where vocabulary is of great importance in developing these reading comprehension skills.

Method : This research is a quantitative research with a pre- test–experiment–post-test design

Sample : which was carried out at BLU, Bac Lieu Province, Vietnam.

This involved 62 second year students majoring in English who were studying the Reading 4 module in the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. They were randomly divided into two treatment groups: and 29 women) and a Control group (3 men and 28 women). Experimental group (2 men).

Result : Comparison of the average scores on vocabulary and reading tests between the control group and the experimental group before treatment. To compare the mean differences and to prove the homogeneity of the control group and the experimental group in their ability to use contextual clue strategies before treatment, Descriptive Statistics and Independent Samples Tests were run to analyze the pre-test scores. .

Advantages : The participants' advantages in using contextual clues between the two groups differed significantly: the level of use of contextual clues in vocabulary learning and reading in the experimental group was greater than in the control group. 4.3. Comparison of the pre-test and post-test results of each group.

Drawback : This research is very short and has an unlimited sample.

Purpose : to explore the effect of group dynamic assessment on word learning through lexical inferencing and to compare it to that of vocabulary enhancement exercises.

Method : This study uses a qualitative design approach by also using the adaptation of quantitative research procedures

Sample : Through purposive sampling, 45 intermediate EFL learners were selected as participants and randomly assigned to three groups. The participants read six texts over a 6-day period and answered comprehension questions for each text. In the second phase of each treatment session, the first group engaged in lexical inferencing of the underlined words within group dynamic assessment framework. The second group did two vocabulary exercises for each target word. The third group engaged in lexical inferencing of target words through group dynamic assessment framework and also did one vocabulary exercise for each target word.

Purpose : The vocabulary of a language refers to the range of words used in it. A number of strategies are used in EFL classrooms to teach vocabulary, where the most common are Dictionary Vocabulary Learning (DVL) and Contextual Vocabulary Acquisition (CVA) The present study investigates the difference between the vocabulary development of EFL learners undergone the

(6)

mentioned strategies.

Method : Qualitative Method

Sample : The study sample was composed of 40 students of a private sector university who had English in their syllabus as the mandatory subject at BS.

Result : The results of the study showed a noticeable difference between the vocabulary development of the learners taught by using DVL and CVA. The group taught with CVA strategies showed better performance in the post-test in comparison to the group taught by using DVL strategies.

Advantages : The advantage of this journal is the presentation from abstract to complete conclusion in this journal that discusses how to read students.

Drawback : In this journal has conducted research

Purpose : Reading affords opportunities for L2 vocabulary acquisition. Empirical research into the pace and trajectory of this acquisition has both theoretical and applied value. Charting the development of different aspects of word knowledge can verify and inform theoretical frameworks of word learning and reading comprehension.

Method : Using qualitative methodology with research studies conducted with each participant individually

Sample : Forty Dutch-speaking university students (28 females) enrolled in a bachelor or master program at Ghent University participated in the present study, either for course credit or for a monetary reward (€10 per hour). Participants accepted into the study had an estimated higher- intermediate to advanced L2 (English) proficiency, based on their English LexTALE vocabulary scores (Lemhöfer & Broersma, Reference Lemhöfer and Broersma2012).

Result : Eye Movements in Reading the Main Text

Advantages : The advantage of this study is that in addition to focusing on how students read, it also focuses on student learning motivation.

Drawback : The flaw in this study is that it does not explain how students can read well and correctly in English.

Purpose : This research was carried out to comparatively study the impacts of portfolio-based assessment, self-assessment, and scaffolded peer assessment on reading comprehension, vocabulary learning, and grammatical accuracy of Afghan English as a foreign language learners.

Method : In this section, the study’s design, setting and subjects, instruments, data collection pro-cedure, and method of data analysis are discussed in detail.

Sample : These selected participants were assigned into four groups:

portfolio group (N = 30), self-assessment group (N = 30), scaffolded peer assessment group (N = 35), and control group (N = 30). The five higher- intermediate learners were injected into the scaffolded peer assessment group to function as the mediators, hence more participants in the group.

Result : The results of three two-way between-group MANOVA disclosed that all three experimental conditions outstripped the comparison group on the second

(9)

occasion and that high WM learners outstripped low WM learners (with a large effect size on reading comprehension test (partial eta squared = .365), a moderate effect size on the same test among high vs.

Advantages: The advantage of this research is the use of clear language that makes it easier for readers to understand sentence by sentence in this article.

Drawback : In the journal, it does not explain the material

media data. Due to its nature, Twitter was the selected platform.

Method : This research uses a qualitative approach with an analytical method.

Sample : The sample of this research is data collection through the twitter platform

Result : Based on the analysis, international acceptance and positive assessment of this technology can be seen. This is in line with the positive perspective and acceptance shown by the educational community regarding these technologies.

More specifically, due to their immersive nature, augmented reality and virtual reality have common elements that are crucial for their effective application in educational contexts.

Advantages : The advantage of this research is that it analyzes data of more than 17 million tweets from January 2010 to December 2020 using text mining, sentiment analysis, and topic modeling methods to understand perspectives, sentiments, attitudes, and public discourse.

Drawback : The shortcomings of this study that can be mentioned involve the use of only one social media platform and the retrieval of tweets written only in English.

Purpose : This research aims to summarize the results of research results from 10 years ago that will be useful for future researchers.

Method : This research uses a qualitative approach with a nalyzs method

Sample : The total number of participants across the research was 630. There were 54% students, 34% were from the recorded anxiety level of the community and the rest (12%) were randomly selected aged 18 to 60 years. Of the 24 selected studies on the google schoolar, plosone, and researchgate platforms

Result : Of the 24 studies screened from the first screening process, 10 studies were excluded. Two of them were out of context in that one of them examined the effect of stereoscopic viewing on presence, anxiety, and cyber illness in VR. and the other was the effect of presence level but did not compare it with the control group.

Advantages : The advantage of this research is that it takes samples on the best journal platforms, making it easier for future researchers.

Drawback : The shortcomings of this research are due to the lack of explanation of the results and what was researched.
