KESIMPULAN DAN SARAN
5.1 Kesimpulan
Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil, berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan antara lain:
1. Pada proses fermentasi dengan kondisi Very High Gravity, penggunaan konsentrasi awal glukosa sebesar 25% (b/v) menghasilkan etanol yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan konsentarsi awal glukosa 35% & 45% (b/v).
2. Pada proses fermentasi dengan kondisi Very High Gravity, penggunaan sumber nitrogen yang lebih banyak tidak memberikan konsentrasi etanol yang lebih besar.
3. Penggunaan konsentrasi awal glukosa 25% (b/v), dengan konsentrasi sumber nitrogen sebesar 0,45% (b/v) yeast extract; 0,75% (b/v) pepton menghasilkan konsentrasi etanol dan yield tertinggi yaitu 11,93% (b/v) dan 49,76% (b/b).
5.2 Saran
Penelitian mengenai pembuatan bioetanol dengan kondisi very high gravity perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut karena prosesnya tergolong sederhana.
Pengembangan yang dapat dilakukan selanjutnya adalah penggunaan pitching rate yang lebih besar dan penggunaan alat fermentasi yang lebih vakum.
