The role of teacher in the class is: (1) teacher tells the students what to do, (2) teacher gives clear instructions about the activity, (3) teacher gets the activities going and (4) teacher gives feedback to the students at the end of class. Unfortunately, it can be difficult for the students to find opportunities to speak English in a country where English is not the native language. One of the schools that try to improve students' ability to speak through conversation in class is SMA Negeri 4 Takalar eleventh grade students, as the subject of this research, can adapt to the situation in the English class through English to use tuition because they passed tenth grade.
In this research, the author examined students' strategies in overcoming speaking difficulties in conversations at SMA Negeri 4 Takalar, because students in 11th grade at SMA Negeri 4 Takalar have some difficulties in speaking and they tried to overcome them by using some strategies. to use. What strategies are used by the students in overcoming English conversation difficulties at SMA Negeri 4 Takalar. This research is limited to know strategies that students use to overcome English conversational problems. The author wants to investigate the strategies used by students to overcome English conversation problem because students are considered to have some problems in making English conversation such as lack of confidence, afraid of making mistakes, less motivation, lack of vocabulary, difficulty in pronunciation English words and worry about grammar.

However, from the long explanation above, there are many problems in speaking English conversation. The problems are: peer pressure, lack of motivation and lack of support, lack of grammar model and poor pronunciation.

Third, the summarized data were grouped into two main groups: the students' problems with speaking and those of the students. Selective items of the strategies used by the students to cope with speaking difficulties were developed based on the basic communication strategies defined by Littlewood. The findings of the study were the problem of the students and their strategies for dealing with this problem when speaking English conversations.
Based on Figure 4.1 above, it appears that there were six problems the students faced when speaking English conversations. The rate of lack of vocabulary was highest than all of the students' difficulties in speaking English conversations. The next interview question related to the students' opinion and experience of the problem they faced in speaking English conversations.
The discussion is concerned with the students' problem in learning to speak and their strategies to overcome such problems. The result of the questionnaire and interview showed that most of the students' problem is lack of conversation. Based on the fact above, it shows that all the students (100%) in class XI MIA 3 lack vocabulary.
Another problem that makes the speaking ability of the students not really good is the mixing of grammar into the speech. Due to the above problems, some students become passive and unconfident in speaking in class. This questionnaire is used to know the problem students face in English language conversation and their strategies they use to solve the problem.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
Conclusion
In this study, the researcher wants to know the speaking problems in conversation of the students of grade 11 at SMA Negeri 4 Takalar, when speaking is the core skill in the classroom. Through this study, the researcher also wants to know about their strategies to overcome speaking problems in English conversation when they have problems in delivering their ideas. The statement of the research problems of this study is stated in chapter one, that is "What are problems faced by the students in English conversation at SMA Negeri 4 Takalar" and "What are strategies used by the students to English conversation overcome problems at SMA Negeri 4 Takalar”.
From the results and discussions presented in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that the students have some speaking problems in the classroom which hindered them in improving their speaking ability. They had some difficulty in expressing or sharing their ideas in conversation, which makes them hesitant to speak English. There are six problems that arise in the speaking class: lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, less motivation, lack of vocabulary, difficulty in pronouncing English words and worrying about grammar.
The findings show that for all students, a lack of vocabulary is the main cause of their speaking difficulties. To deal with the situation where they have difficulty conveying their meaning in conversation, students use a number of communication strategies, including avoiding communication, modifying the message, using paraphrasing, creating new words, switching to the native language, using non-linguistic resources, and seeking help.
