2022, “The effectiveness of outlining strategy in teaching recount writing in grade ten of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo”. Written work often arises from processes of thinking, composing, and revising that require special talents that not every speaker naturally acquires.1 Developing ideas, thinking about how to convey them, and putting them into words and paragraphs for the purpose communicating subtly with other people can be summarized as writing, according to the explanation above.

Research Question

If students make a good outline before writing the recount text, students can easily develop their ideas. The issue examined in this study is limited to the efficiency of applying the outline approach in instructing students to write recount texts in order to deepen the inquiry.

Research Objective

In connection with previous studies, the researcher uses an outline strategy to support the learning process to create a narrative text. Outlining is a writing technique where students outline their writing or outline a paragraph before writing it to make sure all the ideas fit together.7 Using this outlining strategy, students can express their ideas in writing and narrate the text in a directed way. .

Significances Of The Study

Weaknesses in writing and understanding recount texts so that they can take the same steps to improve students' ability to write recount texts. It is worth enriching the reader's knowledge of the text, the genre, especially the features of the narrated text.

Organization of the Thesis

Discuss in the retelling text about the definition of retelling text, the type of retelling text and schematic structure of the retelling text. The outline discusses the definition of outlining, key features of outlining, and the steps to create outlining.

Literature Review 1. Writing

Outlining Strategy

Outline is one of the steps to make putting together an article easier, but when putting together a. In this phase, students write the topic sentence one or more times based on the purpose of the essay.

Recount text

A narrative text is a genre text whose purpose is to amuse and amuse readers or listeners about past events. So we can say that the type of narrative text is divided into three, namely personal narrative, factual narrative and imaginative narrative.

Previews Study

The journal used a follow-up research method or CAR while this study used quantitative research. The third study is, "Improving students' writing skills in paragraph writing through an outlining technique" is also a point of support for the researchers in compiling this study. In this study there is similarity of one of the same variables using the delineation strategy.

The difference between the journal and this study is in the second variable, if in this study it focused on the narration of the text, it is different from the journal that focuses on essay writing. Same as this study, which aims to test the effectiveness of outline methods on students' writing skills. However, in the journal, it is only the ability to write in general, while this study focused on the narrative text.

Theoritical Framework

One class of the second grade ist is the research participant, because this class is the one that has problems in developing ideas in the writing process. The pre-test and post-test are used to obtain data The outline technique is given directly after obtaining the results of the pre-test scores. Findings show that there are significant changes between pre-test and post-test scores, with post-test having higher scores than pre-test. Outine has also been found to help students with their writing, especially with the content and organization of their essay.

So, previous research is very important to be used as a reference to facilitate the process of preparing research, if a study has been done and a similar research has been done or is still close, it can be developed again by not using the existing ones not to repeat, but to develop existing ones and which certainly have their own differences.

Hypothesis

This chapter includes a discussion of research design, research place and time, research population and samples, operational definitions of research variables, data collection techniques and instruments, validity and reliability, and data analysis techniques.

Research Design

The criterion for the experimental and control classes is that the students have the same writing skills. In addition, pre-test and post-test are also used in the experimental and control classes in this research. A pre-test before the treatment to keep the students in the same condition and to know the students' writing skills and a post-test after the treatment to measure the effects of this treatment.

X1e : Students' writing skill of experimental group in pre-test X1c : Students' writing skill of control group in pre-test. X2e : Students' writing skill of experimental group in post-test X2c : Students' writing skill of control group in post-test T : Treatment using Outlinning strategy. The result of the collection of data is used to know if there is a significant difference between students' writing skills using outline strategy and the use of conventional method in the tenth grade student at SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo.

Population and Sample

The Operational Definitions of Variable

Independent Variable

Outline technique is a form of technique used in learning to write and which can be introduced to students with the aim of students being able to write well and correctly. In addition, the researcher measured using a test and was given a written test in the form of composing paragraphs with recount text, and the students composed paragraphs based on the learned outlining technique. There are several indicators that students should acquire when writing stories based on this variable.

Dependent Variable

Research Instrument and Data Collection Technique

Their writing was then evaluated by the four raters based on two main indicators: content, organization, vocabulary and grammar.

Jetis

Validity and Reability

The result of these tests will be used as the primary data for this study. The validity of the writing test was measured using SPSS 25, which is often used in research. The researcher gave a sheet to write the retelling text according to outlining technique and then the researcher gave a sheet of questionnaire.

The reliability test was conducted to test the consistency of the response of the respondents throughout the questions asked. Based on the result of reliability testing, it can be seen that the questionnaire has a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.521, which is greater than 0.60. It can be concluded that the data from the questionnaire is reliable or the data from the questionnaire is consistent if it is more than 0.60.

Data Analysis Technique

  • Assumption Test

After the test is administered to the students in the pre-exam and post-exam, it will be tested. The test is focused on the student's pre-test and post-test. The test result will be analyzed using a hypothesis test. Ho : There is no significant difference in the score of students who are taught with outlining strategy and those who are not taught with outlining strategy in the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo in writing repetitive text.

Ha: There is a significant difference in the writing of retelling text for students who are taught using an outline strategy and who are not taught using an outline strategy in the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo. 28 Ho is accepted as probabilities > 0.05, there is no significant difference score in the writing of retelling text for students who are taught using outlining strategy and who are not taught using outlining strategy at the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo. Ha is accepted as probabilities < 0.05, there is a significant difference score in the writing of retelling text for students who are taught using outlining strategy and who are not taught using outlining strategy at the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo.

RESEARCH FINDINGS

General Findings

  • History of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo

The current level of the number of teachers is sufficient, even for some subjects the number of teachers is higher. Since the number of classrooms is only 2, some borrow people's houses and some take turns in the afternoon. In the third year of the academic year, the number of classrooms was increased by 1 room. As a result of the development with the RKB BIS funds of 2006, the PSB committee received 3 groups, so that registration was arranged for class X in the afternoon and class XI. & XII to go in the morning.

As of 2009, SMAN 1 Jetis has been included in the First Year National Standard School (SSN) category. In the second semester of the construction of the new building, room 1 could be occupied, so everyone came in the morning, although some still borrowed the Chemistry Laboratory room as a classroom. In the first semester, 2 new classrooms are built with Central Funds and Committees, so that in
