Some Previous Research Finding

Re-understanding is one of the skills of students in reading the text and understanding what the texts are about by using preview as a pre-reading activity. After administering the pre-test, the researcher gave the students a set of materials, using previewing as a pre-reading activity. The worksheet with the calculation of the score on the pre- and post-test on the reading comprehension of the students.

The researcher was able to conclude that most students were motivated in learning to read by using pre-reading. 14 students (70%) chose to agree in the third questionnaire. Strongly agree 2 students (10%), undecided 4 students (20%) There are no students who chose disagree or strongly disagree. Based on the table above, 19 students (95%) strongly disagreed and 1 student (5%) strongly agreed. It indicated that the students agreed that using pre-reading as reading aloud in learning to read motivated them.

Conceptual Framework

The researcher administers a test to the students before conducting the treatment by using previewing as a pre-reading activity to know the students' performance in the students. The students' classifications score when answering the questionnaire, based on the above explanation. Like to scale classifications. This section discusses the result of quasionnaire on students' motivation in learning by using pre-reading.

And then the researcher gave the students a chance to ask some questions and the words they didn't know yet. METHODE OF THE RESEARCH

The independent variable is using the preview as a pre-reading activity and the dependent variable is the students' reading comprehension. Anticipation as a pre-reading activity is a strategy or teaching in improving students' reading comprehension and stimulates students in reading. The strategy of previewing as a pre-reading activity is to get students to guess the content of the story, what the story is about after they have heard the summary that the teacher read.

It forces the simulated students to read and because they scored well, they automatically understood it well. After the students answered the questions on the texts, he determined whether they understood the text well or not. Whether students are interested in learning English using preview as a pre-reading activity or not.

Location and Duration

Population and Sample

Based on the researchers' observation, there are two eleventh grade classrooms in Sma Negeri 7 Pinrang. Example is Some of the population selected using a certain procedure so that its population is expected to respond. Sampling is the process of choosing and taking a sample correctly from the population so that it can be used as a valid representative of the population.27 In this research, the researcher will use the random sampling technique.

This technique takes the subject/sample which is based on strata and not based on considering a certain purpose or random. Therefore, the researcher randomly selected 10 students from class II MIA 1 and II MIA 2 and the total of the sample was 20 samples by giving the students chance to take a number and whoever gets an addition number, they were as the sample .

The Instrument of the Research

Procedure of Collecting Data

During the last meeting, the students were given a test by the researcher to find out whether the students had reading comprehension after participating in the treatment.

Technique of Data Analysis

Find the significant between the mean score and pre-test and post-test by calculating the value of the test. If t-table > t-test, 𝐻𝑜 is accepted and 𝐻1 is rejected, it means that Preview as Reading cannot be one of the alternative in teaching reading because it cannot improve students' reading comprehension. If t-table ≤ t-test 𝐻1 is accepted 𝐻𝑜 is rejected, it means that Preview as Pre-reading can be one of the Teachers' alternatives in teaching reading, because it can improve students' reading motivation.

The analysis of the students’ reading Comprehension

The result of post-test (71) was higher than pre-test (83.75) it meant that after students gave treatmen by using preview as pre-reading, students had better score. The researcher could conclude that almost of the students like to study reading by using preview as pre-reading because most of the students strongly disagreed 12 students (60%) with the negative statement of the second questionnaire, 7 students (35% ) ) undecided 1 student (5%) there is no one chosen Agree and strongly agree. There was a student from the negative statement above, it was thought that using preview as pre-reading could help students.

It can be seen in the students' questionnaire score, it was 83.3 on the right side, so it means that the students agree that the preview as a pre-reading was able to motivate them. Based on the research result, the research would like to offer some suggestions to improve students' reading comprehension. The suggestions are. FINDING AND DISCUSSION

Finding

The percentage of the level the students gained in reading comprehension before the test and in reading comprehension after the test. This meant that most of the students received a fair to poor rating before the treatment and none of them received a high rating, indicating that the reading comprehension of the students was still low. The second reading is interesting for most students and they read with pleasure, as are the third and fourth readings.

The table above showed that the standard deviation of the students in the pre-test was 8.046 and the standard deviation of the students in the post-test was 7.412. The researcher could conclude that students were easier to improve their understanding in the process of learning to read by using preview as pre-reading because most of them strongly agreed 6 students (30%) and agreed 13 students (65%) ) and undecided 1 student. (5%) and there are no selected students who disagree and strongly disagree. Based on the above table it showed that the choice of 16 students (80%) strongly disagree and that the choice of 4 students (20%) disagree, there is no choice of students Undecided, and that there is no student also chose Agree and Strongly agree .

Discussion

And then the researcher will ask the students to read the necessary test than giving the students the opportunity to ask some questions and words that they did not know yet. The researcher then asked the students to see the picture in the text which is related to the content of the text, then asked them if they knew anything about the picture and then the researcher asked the students to read the first paragraphs, which in general. introduced the topics discussed in the text and then seeks to determine the overall themes of the text. The researcher asked the students to read the last paragraph, which often re-evaluated the author's conclusion, after the researcher asked the students to read the text it contained, then concluded what the text was about and shared it with their friend presenting it to the class.

On Monday, November 11, 2019, the researcher gave the students a set of reading texts, and before that, the researcher let them guess the title by giving them pre. The researcher asked students to read the first few paragraphs, which generally introduced the topics discussed in the text, and then asked them to determine the general themes of the text, after which the researcher asked students to read the last paragraph, which often revealed the conclusion. by the author and then the researcher asked the students to red the accompanying text than concluded what the text about and shared it by visiting each group and asking their opinion about the text. On Monday, November 18, 2019, the researcher gave the students a set of reading texts and before that, the researcher let them guess the little by giving them a pre-question that made them guess it, and the researcher also read the synopsis of the text so that they could be stimulated to to read and activate their prior knowledge, and then the researcher asked the students to see the picture in the text that was related to the content of the text and asked them if they knew anything about the picture.

The researcher asked the students to read the first few paragraphs, which generally introduced the topics discussed in the text, then asked them to determine the general themes of the text, and then the researcher asked the students to read the last paragraph, which often revealed the conclusion of the author, after which he asked the students to read the accompanying text and conclude what the text was about by discussing with their group and retelling the conclusion to their friends and than.
