PENDAHULUAN
Berkaitan dengan rencana Pengembangan Fasilitas Pelabuhan untuk pelayanan PT Krakatau Posco dan Blast Furnace PT KS, maka PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera memandang perlu untuk melakukan Pembangunan Dermaga 6 dengan kapasitas sandar kapal super capesize 200.000 DWT dan Pembangunan 2 Line Conveyor kapasitas @ 3000 tph di area terminal Cigading 2.
Kapal super capsize 200.000 DWT membutuhkan kedalaman perairan sekitar 21 meter, sehingga untuk memenuhi draft kapal tersebut dan untuk menghindari pengerukan dermaga direncanakan menggunakan tipe Jetty. Panjang dermaga 6 direncanakan sekitar 327 meter dengan lebar 25 meter dan dihubungkan dengan trestle sepanjang 1074,3 meter dengan pertimbangan draft kapal dan kedalaman yang harus dipenuhi tanpa melakukan kegiatan pengerukan. Hal ini dikarenakan kedalaman sekitar 21 meter terletak sekitar 1000 meter dari bibir pantai terdekat sehingga panjang trestle yang akan digunakan mencapai 1074,3 meter.
