This school is one of the preferred schools at the vocational high school level in Ponorogo. Some of the non-academic achievements are Scouting, Traditional and Modern Dance, Music etc.
Some of the learning achievements are story telling competitions, debating competitions and speech competitions. The researcher chose this school as one of the vocational schools that implemented group discussion in teaching English.

The researcher selected 5 students who have good speaking skills during the teaching speaking process using group discussion. In this step, the researcher entered the tenth grade of SMKN 1 Jenangan which is handled by the English teacher to observe the situation and interaction between students and teacher in the class during the learning.
During the observation, the researcher took a photo between the students and the teacher to analyze the data.
