2018-19 FAFSA Filing Deadline 3/15/2018
IMPORTANT: MARCH 15, 2018 IS THE DEADLINE FOR FILING THE 2018-19 FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA).
If you will be a student at AU for the 2018-19 academic year...
It's FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) filing time!
For 2018-19, you don't have to wait until January 1, 2018! The 2018-19 FAFSA became available on October 1, 2017.
You'll need your Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) to sign the 2018-19 FAFSA. Go to https://fsaid.ed.gov to create an FSA ID (if you do not already have one).
Proceed to https://fafsa.gov to get started with the FAFSA filing.
For 2018-19, you will be using 2016 income information. No need to wait until 2017 tax return is filed!
Use the Data Retrieval Tool on the FAFSA to upload the 2016 income directly from the IRS to more quickly complete the form.
The Alfred University FAFSA school code is 002668.
Upon completion of the FAFSA, you will be directed to "Start your state application" if your home state requires it. For NY State residents, this form is called a TAP Application and is required for TAP and other NY State aid.
For New York State Residents only: Be sure the proper Alfred University TAP school code is listed for both the fall and spring semesters.
Alfred's Code is 0020 for programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Business, College of Professional Studies, and Mechanical, Renewable Energy, and Undecided Engineering.
Use code 0960 for all other Engineering Programs and the School of Art and Design.
For more general information about financial aid at Alfred University, please visit our our web page @ www.alfred.edu/finaid. Our telephone number is 607-871-2159 and our email address is

Alfred Ceramic Art Museum Exhibitions hereafter: Kelcy Chase Folsom; 2015 -2018 Robert Chapman Turner Teaching Fellow
Holding the Line: Ceramic Sculpture Stanley Rosen Minyao: Art of the Everyday
a Selection of Chinese Folk Pottery October 19, 2017 - January 1, 2018
Opening Reception: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19 Alfred Ceramic Art Museum
Cost: free
Sponsored by: Alfred Ceramic Art Museum
Three new exhibitions are opening simultaneously on October 19, 2017.
Holding the Line, ceramic sculptor Stanley Rosen's (MFA Alfred '56) retrospective is revelatory. Rosen has long been a quiet visionary. His little known work from the late 1950's, 1960's and 70's will astonish.
Concurrent with the Rosen exhibition the Museum is celebrating the break out career of Kelsey Chase Folsom. His thoughtful, poetic and often challenging work will be on view in the exhibition hereafter.
The Museum will also feature Minyao (peoples' pottery): The Art of the Everyday. Supported by a grant from the Asian Cultural Council-Rockefeller Foundation, the collection of work on view is the result of a concerted effort to honor and preserve a powerful, disappearing ceramic language of the Chinese people.
Museum hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday; 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Don't be fooled by tricky SPAM!
Dear Campus Community,
As you have likely noticed the number of Spoofing/SPAM emails that ask you for your network username and password and/or with malware attachments have become increasingly sophisticated over the last several months. Some of the more sophisticated tactics include:
* Posing to have been sent from the ITS Helpdesk
* The appearance of being sent by a University employee (and even the University President)
* Using University branded images and logos
* Using IT/Helpdesk language
Any email (or email that links to a Web form) that asks for your username and password and/or contains an unknown attachment should be treated with extreme caution. ITS will never ask directly through email for your username and password. And there is only one notable, but extraordinarily rare occurrence when we will ask you to input your username and password into a Web form...during computer deployment, only once, every three years.
The best tactic to avoid being tricked by these emails is to STOP, and immediately contact the ITS Helpdesk either through a phone call (607.871.2222) or forwarding the suspect email to
[email protected]. We can directly assist you in verifying that the email is fraudulent. Be
extraordinarily suspicious of any email that asks for authentication credentials or ANY protected private information. Always verify the authenticity of such requests by contacting the ITS Helpdesk.
Fiat Lux!
