A news item is any written text in English containing one or more paragraphs that serves to inform readers of events of the day that are considered newsworthy or important.
News item contains three components namely, headline or title, summary of event, background events and sources. Discussion is a written English text that functions to present information and options about issues in more than one side of an issue. Explanation is a written text that functions to explain the process involved in the formation or operation of natural or socio-cultural phenomena.
Explanation contains three components namely a general statement about a particular topic to be explained sequence of explanations describing the process, formation, involvement and termination (optional). Review is a written text that serves to criticize or evaluate a work of art or an event for a public audience. The elements in the review text are title, identification, summary and evaluation as well as author and publisher.

The Genre of Narrative
According to Knapp and Watkins, the narrative genre is one of the most widely read, though least understood, of all genres because narrative has. Therefore, story writing has been prominent as a means of naturally introducing students to the intricacies and peculiarities of the English language.
Previous Research
The writer took another data from Ada Irma Suryani Department of English Education, Faculty of Tarbiya and State Islamic University 'Syarif Hidayatullah' Jakarta (2011) entitled Analysis of Student's Error in Learning Plural Forms of Nouns stated that students' results ' error in learning plural forms of nouns. It shows that the first type of common plural noun is most plural. The writer took another piece of information from Tiya Erisanti English Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty State Institute for Islamic Students (IAIN) Salatiga (2008) entitled Analyzing of the students' error of using countable and uncountable noun in writing descriptive text of tenth grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah Salatiga.

Thus, this study will emphasize on analyzing the errors of using countable and uncountable nouns in writing narrative text.

In this step, the result of the student's task writing a narrative text was collected, which depended on the student's experiences as the data of this research. The writer classified the writing data according to error category. According to Dulay et al, there are four commonly used bases for descriptive error classification. In this study, the writer used the surface strategy taxonomy (omission, addition, misformation, and misclassification).
Errors of omission are characterized by the absence of an article that should appear in a well-formed utterance. The sentence, point out that one is left out, "s" the sentence above is still wrong because there are twenty restaurants in it. Addition error occurs because students add letters or words to sentences that should not be added there.
It is redundant because the noun sheep is also sheep in the plural Uncountable noun. Malformation errors are characterized by the use of the wrong morpheme form or structure. Misordering errors are characterized by the incorrect placement of morpheme or group morphemes in an utterance.
