It is a challenge for the translator to keep the feeling of the story in a novel. In general, translation is an activity that transfers ideas from one language to another without changing the meaning of the source language. Venuti argued that domestication involves an ethnocentric reduction of the foreign text to target the language's cultural values.
A faithful translation attempts to reproduce the exact contextual meaning of the original within the constraints of the TL grammatical structures. It attempts to be completely faithful to the intentions and the textual realization of the SL author.
Personification
Free translation reproduces the matter without the manner or content without the form of the original. Briefly, personification is the attribution of animal, idea, abstract, inanimate object with human form and non-living things by putting together words or expressions that represent the human characteristics. In English rhetoric, Richard divided the structure of metaphor and simile into 'tenor and vehicle'.
In personification, the tenor is the subject who is given a human trait while the vehicle is the use of human traits to create the personification. The example is identified as personification as there is my word pizza which is personified by the verb love.
Translation Technique on Personification
