*) Prof. Ronald M Atlas is a Professor in University of Louisville, USA. He has worked on the biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons and the application of bioremediation for over 45 years. He has been introduced at professional meetings as the father of bioremediation. He has authored over 300 journal articles. He also has presented more than 300 scientific talks at national and international meetings.
He is the author of a book on Petroleum Microbiology and coauthor of one on Bioremediation. He has also coauthored the major textbook on microbial ecology used worldwide. He has served on the US Environmental Protection Agency Advisory Board on Bioremediation and the American Academy of Microbiology Task Force on Bioremediation. He chaired the American Society for Microbiology Environment Committee for 9 years and also was elected President of the Society in 2001—The ASM is the world’s largest single life sciences professional organization with over 40,000 members worldwide… and many more….
