Thesis Title: “United States Military Intervention in the Syrian War in the regime of Bashar Al-Assad Syif Thenik Fatma). This is an opportunity for the US to dominate countries in the Middle East, even more so because Bashar Al-Assad has good relations with Iran, whose power is considered a threat to the US. The first step taken by the US was to call on Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad to step down in 2011.

The United States' military intervention in Syria is based on national interests which are then implemented through foreign policy and defense policy. This research is focused on how the United States has conducted its military intervention in Syria. This study aims to determine the actions of the United States in carrying out military intervention in the period 2011-2017.

Background of Study

ISIS also has another goal, namely to try to have its own territory in the middle of Iraq and Syria. The involvement that Russia carried out was a kind of military intervention because the Russian government sent and placed a number of military forces in the internal conflict of Syria. Russia's economic interests in Syria are cooperation in the economic field, namely cooperation in the Russian arms trade with the Syrian government, where Russia exports weapons to the ruling Syrian government (Noor, 2014).

Russia began to intervene in the Syrian conflict by helping Bashar Al-Assad in the year 2015. 6 The military intervention carried out by the United States was its military intervention in the Middle East. The involvement of the United States was not spared due to its strength as the number one superpower in the world.

Interventions carried out by the US into countries in the Middle East have even been carried out for a long time. Sovereign countries of the world generally try to reconcile their understanding and views with each other.

Problem Identification

Bush, the previous president of the United States, but the interference of the United States was still carried out by the president who served after him, Barack Obama. Barack Obama believes that the United States must take action to stop this conflict for human rights, as 400,000 people have been killed. This will raise the question of why the United States is still passive when a civil war can slaughter the Syrian people.

Obama, who was still the President of the United States at the time, assumed that the United States should act as soon as possible (Greenberg, 2016). The main goal of the United States in conducting military intervention in Syria is to defeat the forces of the Syrian regime so that President Assad can leave. The financial support, training and weapons provided by the United States to the rebels were used by the rebels to fight against the protection of the Assad regime in order to remove the Syrian president from the presidency.

The United States' other goal in intervening in the Syrian conflict is also to eradicate ISIS. But oddly enough, the United States has the same goal as ISIS, which is just as willing to oust Bashar Al-Assad as the chairman of the Syrian president.

But what if the exchange is not in accordance with the wishes of the United States. International Crime - Reduce the impact of international crime on the United States and its citizens. It signifies the determination and readiness of the United States to deter or, if necessary, defeat the enemy (Department of Defense, 2015).

With sophisticated military equipment, the United States has the ability to maintain the defense of its national territory. One of the instruments of foreign policy that the United States applied to Syria was the military. In this case, we can see that military intervention by the United States could endanger Syria.

For example, the United States had provided arms assistance to the mujahideen in Afghanistan in the 1980s. The proof is that the US has killed dozens of Russian military contractors in airstrikes (Hill, 2018).

As an example, there are differences in the interests of the United States and Russia in this conflict. They made the national interest of the United States in the direction of the state (BELFER CENTRE, 2019). But Russia's arrival in Syria for military intervention was a challenge to the power of the United States.

The United States' vital interest in Syria is reflected in a statement by President Barack Obama in 2011. Syria severed diplomatic relations with the United States in 1967 after the Arab-Israeli War. One of the first agenda items in the Obama administration was the foreign policy of the United States towards Syria.

The headquarters of the United States Department of Defense is in the Pentagon, which is a pentagonal building. Then in 2014, the US delivered TOW (Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wine-guided) anti-tank missiles. This ammunition was also sold in the United States under the Winchester brand (Guns Fandom, 2019).

The weakness of the opposition group was the US's homework as its strategy. Another strategy was to balance the conflicting goals of the US and the extremists. The US first carried out an air campaign against ISIS in Syria in September 2014.

The Arab Spring wave that took place in the Middle East does not escape the attention of the United States. This is a new threat to the US because it can hinder its influence in the Middle East.
