Literature Review: Data Quality Assessment Methods Of Tuberculosis Recording And Reporting Electronically

Article details:

Received: 14 th July 2020 Revision: 18 th July 2020 Accepted: 21 th July 2020 Published: 30 th July 2020

Abstract

On 2019, number of tuberculosis (TB) cases in the world reaches 10 million people with deaths reaching 1.7 million people. Data quality of recording and reporting needs to be considered as one of TB control strategies.

To optimize TB control, some countries conduct data quality assessments using a method by assessing the dimensions. This study aims to examine several methods of assessing data quality of electronic TB recording and reporting through literature review with simplified approach.

Search of indexed and reputable articles is done on databases of Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, CrossRef, PROQUEST. Articles review show that there are 3 methods used to assess data quality, that is Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tool (85%), Routine Data Quality Assessment (RDQA) (5%), and independently developed methods (40%). There were differences from 3 methods, specifically CDC was appropriate for assessing data completeness more accurately, RDQA was appropriate for assessing data reported routinely, and independently developed methods were used according to a region conditions. Based on the used of several methods, data quality dimensions most frequently assessed were completeness (85%), followed by dimensions of timeliness (40%) and accuracy (30%).

Assessment of TB data quality is still limited, a health institution needs to conduct assessment of data quality regularly so TB control efforts are more optimal.

Implementation Of Prevention Of Mother To Child Hiv Transmission Programs In The Antenatal Care Service By Midwife In The Health Center Of Wringin Resources In Bondowoso

Ayu Sukma Pratiwi

Lecturer at Midwifery Academy Darma Praja Bondowoso

Article details:

Received: 9 July 2020 Revision: 18 July 2020 Accepted: 24 July 2020 Published: 30 July 2020

ABSTRACT

The implementation of the PMTCT program in ANC services by midwives is still not optimal, in this case most informants lack knowledge because they are only able to explain a few topics of the PMTCT program and most informants have not attended PMTCT training, only midwife coordinators and HIV program holders in the Community Health Centers, Supporting facilities and infrastructure at the Community Health Center are also incomplete, including PPIA feedback sheets that have not been evenly distributed in each village. The

Sumber Wringin Community Health Center has facilitated HIV testing reagents but does not yet have a counseling room to carry out VCTs and the Community Health Center funds are only sourced from Health Operational Assistance funds used to provide HIV test reagents and socialization activities. All informants supported the PMTCT program. The midwife's assessment of the behavior of pregnant women is indicated by their willingness to take an HIV test on the advice of the midwife. Process variables are demonstrated through PMTCT socialization activities that are still not running optimally, namely in HIV counseling activities and HIV testing is not always done at the initial pregnancy visit, counseling material is not always focused on HIV. Efforts to detect HIV early have been implemented well, following the referral management has been in accordance with the referral flow. Midwives have provided support to pregnant women with HIV and all these activities are supported by the leadership, namely the head of the Community Health Center in the form of periodic monitoring and supervision.
