The purpose of the research was to find out whether the use of photo series is able to improve students' content writing or not, which refers to students' ability to write narrative text in content that covers unity and completeness, and covers the use of language . the times. Research findings showed that the use of picture series can improve students' writing ability in terms of content and language use, especially in narrative text writing. It showed that students' writing ability in the post-test was higher than the pre-test.

This means that there was a significant difference in the students' writing ability before and after the application of Picture Series. The researcher realizes that in carrying out the research and writing this thesis, many people have contributed their valuable suggestion, guidance, assistance and advice for the completion of this thesis. Based on the above problem, the researcher decided to promote one of the educational images of series as media that appeal to the students, to help the students to create narrative text by using images as media. The purpose of using the image of series as a medium in learning this writing, so that students can develop writing skills. Based on the above problem, the researcher is interested to raise a research title with The Use Of Picture Series as Media To Increase Narrative Text Writing Among First Class Students Of SMA Negeri 1 Gowa.

The students can apply the use of photo series as media in their study club to improve their writing skills. This research can help other teachers to innovate learning media, especially through the use of image sequences as media in teaching, so that they can increase both the quality of teaching and the learning performance of the students. The result of the research can be used as a reference for further research on teaching and learning English, especially by applying the use of image sequences as media in every classroom activity.

This research was limited to the use of picture series as a medium to improve writing skills in narrative text. These were focused on content and language because most of the students find it difficult to write well and they find it difficult to express their idea to complete their written content.

Byrne in Hartina (2013:8) states that writing is clearly more than predicting the sounds. This section included a description of the activities that led to the writing of the previous essay. Picture series is one of the instructional media to overcome the writing problems, especially in writing narrative text.

Photo series are a creative idea to develop concepts of the story written by the students. Using photo series, students can build concepts and bring out the ideas of the story they are writing. According to Alex in Muna (2016), "Picture Series is one of the media that supports the brainstorming process during the writing process as visual aids that stimulate to provide inspiration to express something".

Students can understand the content of a whole series of pictures because they are pictures. The picture series can be used with any material and regardless of the focus of the curriculum the teacher is following.

Table 1 shows the indicator's mean score in each variable of students' ability to write narrative text. The line chart below shows students' improvement in writing narrative text, including unity and completeness. The use of picture series is effective in improving students' ability to write narrative text in terms of language use (tense).

The table above shows approximately the average score of the indicator of each variable in the students' ability to write narrative text. Besides, from the data above, it can be seen that the improvement of the students' writing ability in term times after being taught using picture series is 26.44%. The line graph below shows the students' ability to write narrative text, including unity and completeness covering tenses.

The use of series pictures as a teaching medium is effective in improving students' ability to write a narrative text in terms of content and language use. The bar chart below shows students' progress in writing a narrative text, including content and language use. Improvement in students' average pre- and post-test writing scores.

The development of the students' mean scores from pre-test to post-test can be seen in the following table. It can be seen that the improvement in students' writing ability in terms of content and language after being taught using picture series is 26.02%. The research result that the students' writing skills by using picture series as media showed the improvement of the students' writing skills in terms of content and language.

The result of the students who wrote in the preliminary test was low, especially in terms of finding the content and the language used. Before the treatment is given, the writing skills of the students in terms of content and language use are reasonable. Using collaborative writing techniques to improve the writing skills of SMA's tenth grade students.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Finding

In addition, from the above data, it can be seen that the improvement of students' writing ability in unity and completeness of terms after they have been taught using photo series as teaching media are 32.71% and 24.16%. It can be seen from the table below, which describes the students' results for indicators of language use, including tenses. The result of the average score in the pre-test and post-test above, where the average score of the students' times in the pre-test is 64.62 categorized as poor and the average score of the students in the post-test is 81.71 categorized as good.

The students' average score of content and language use in post-test was 83.43 and 81.71 categorized as good. Besides, from the data above, it can be seen that the improvement of the students' writing ability in term content and language use after being taught by using series of pictures as the teaching media is 25.60% and 26.44%. The graph 4.4: shows the students' improvement of the students' ability to write narrative text in terms of content and language use after being taught using picture series as teaching media is 26.02%.

Based on the problem above, the author gave the treatment using Picture Series as Media, so that the students could show the improvement in post-test. The result of students' mean score after presentation in the teaching of writing skill using Picture Series as Media is better than before the treatment was given to the students. The result of the calculation of t-test of the indicators in the students' t-test writing ability (content and language use) is greater than t-table 25.53>2.03.
