The King James from the Received Text has been the Bible of the English-speaking world for 300 years. In the preface of that book it criticized and belittled the Bible of the Protestants.
TRADITION EQUALS SCRIPTURE ACCORDING TO THE REVISED
This change in the Revised Version suggests that parts of the Bible may not have been inspired. The Savior's command to search the Scriptures, as given in King James, establishes them as the source of eternal life and the authority of true doctrine. When the Revised Version declares that parts of the Bible may not have been inspired by God (as in <550316>2 Timothy 3:16), the accused is forced to testify against himself.

As for the Revised Version, the change destroys the infallibility of that glorious citadel of revelation which has been for ages the standard of truth.

The Revised changes the doctrine of conversion and that change is a complete reversal of the doctrine.

In this connection we see the full meaning of the words used about creation in <581103>Hebrews 11:3: By faith we understand that the worlds (times, 1:e. universe under the aspect of time) have been formed by the word of God. KING JAMES: "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by him all things were made." REVISED: “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things were created."
THE PERSON OF CHRIST
With this change they identified Jesus, the second Person of the Trinity, with the Holy Spirit, the third Person. The apparent purpose of this change is to pave the way for teaching ideas of the Person of Jesus different from his own. CHANGE IN THE DOCTRINE OF ATONEMENT
That Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed is a historical fact; that he was sacrificed "for us" is the teaching and the very basis on which the gospel rests. Take away the fact that he died "for us," as the Revisers did in this text, and there will be no more gospel. Changes that seem small on first reading seem fatal when reviewed and read in the light of intentional change.

The leading revisers, especially Westcott and Hort, rejected the idea that Christ was our substitute and our sacrifice. It is well known that many of the Revisionists believed in what they called, The Larger Hope, or Universal Salvation, which the translators of the King James did not believe.
BLOWS AGAINST THE LAW OF GOD — THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
Most of the revisers did not believe that there would be a personal return of Jesus before the restoration of all things, which the Authorized Version of this passage teaches. The Revisers dislodged this verse from its place in the scheme of the last chapter of the Bible. KING JAMES: "And when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.".
AFFECTING SCIENTIFIC TEACHING OF THE BIBLE
MOFFATT: “And darkness covered the whole land until three o'clock, because of an eclipse of the sun.”. The Greek text of the Revisors says that a solar eclipse occurred (tou elion eklai pontos). Moffatt honestly translated his garbled Greek as follows: 'as a result of a solar eclipse.' The Auditors failed to do so.

In King James, the word "brethren" is a noun that makes the laity a third class, separate from the apostles and elders. This passage is used as the foundation upon which to build the argument for the clergy being separated by God in their function from their lay brethren. In the sending of this authentic letter of the first council of the Christian church, it makes a great difference whether it was issued only by the apostles and elders, or by the apostles, elders, and brethren.

AMERICAN REVISED: "And thus they wrote with them: Apostles and elders, brethren, to brethren who are of the Gentiles." Augustine says that the order, as distinct from the laity and vulgar people, is dedicated to offering Christ without blood to his heavenly Father for us to preach and administer the sacraments and to be shepherds of the people, completely suppressed in their translations.”f405. No less a doctrine than that of the existence of an intermediate state is concealed in the omission of that unauthorized little article from the authorized version by the revisers.”f406.

There is positive certainty that it does not mean "the judgment" in the sense in which that word is popularly understood. Vance Smith, another reviser, proved that the change from "hellfire" in the Authorized to "hell of fire" in the Revised opened the way for the introduction of different hells. Westcott also finds "the greatest hope" in the change made in <420172>Luke 1:72 by the revision.f413 We will now quote from a well-known church historian who briefly describes the different. Hell, a place of eternal suffering, the abode of those who die immortal sin, without forgiveness.
