ABSTRACT

The English proficiency of non-English speakers in their daily use in an international work environment is measured by a test, namely the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) test. However, this test is still carried out using paper and pencil (paper- based) and still requires people to be supervised during the test. This is still experienced by Widyatama University Bandung students when carrying out the TOEIC test organized by the UPT Language Institute of Widyatama University Bandung. The purpose of this research is to build a website-based TOEIC test management information system. The method used is Waterfall, which includes analysis, system design, program code implementation and system testing. System testing is carried out using the black box method and using a questionnaire to obtain user satisfaction. The SIMTIC admin and user web application has been tested using three different web browsers and can run well, the SIMTIC android application has also been tested using three different android operating systems with the results running well, and testing has been carried out on ten respondents which resulted in a percentage of 83.3%. The application of this information system will facilitate the management of the TOEIC test at the UPT of the Widyatama University Language Institute, Bandung.

Keywords: Information System, Website, PHP, TOEIC, Waterfall

1. INTRODUCTION

The TOEIC test is still being administered in writing at Widyatama University Bandung (paper-based). This necessitates a monitoring procedure during the TOEIC test implementation. As a result, we require a system capable of resolving these issues so that the TOEIC test can be implemented quickly, effectively, and efficiently without wasting time.

Several English test websites developed on the internet or through an online browser have many innovations. The web- based TOEIC exam and question system training are two examples. This information system was used to help with the creation and testing of TOEIC questions. There are also features of practise questions and the implementation of the test process for improving test results in order to facilitate the ability to speak English and participants boldly with

good results that are fast, precise, and accurate.

The English Course Main Center's TOEFL practise system is built on the Code Igniter framework. This system allows participants to take tests remotely, reducing the use of paper. The following application is the web-based EPT Test at the Widyatama University language centre. This application is used to assess English proficiency and includes learning content and tests.

TOEFL testing preparation. There is also a TOEFL application as a web-based English training medium that can be used at any time to measure self-efficacy in speaking English, and the TOEFL information system is web-based in the language laboratory Widyatama University is used to register to find out the participants' TOEFL test results. The iDu (iLearning Education) application was created as a means of implementing the TOEFL internet-based test (IBT) in higher education. The TOEFL test is administered using the IBT system in this system, allowing the TOEFL test to be completed online and accessible at any time and from any location. Application A web-based TOEFL simulation has been developed to simulate the TOEFL test, which can be taken at any time and from any location.

Widyatama University has three sessions:

reading, listening, and structure. TOEIC

web-based browser simulation of the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC). TOEIC simulation application that distinguishes between listening and reading. Web-based simulation and learning application based on the TOEFL.

The application can run practise questions and TOEFL simulations with questions that follow the TOEFL processing format, run TOEFL simulations with questions that follow the TOEFL implementation format, namely with the timer and score feature, and run the questions randomly for each application executed. Then there's the system for using the website to learn English. Websites for learning English that include listening tests, writing tests, and speaking tests.

Previously created websites already provide features to show scores, timers, print results, and test simulations via the web and android, making learning easier.

However, previous applications lack features such as supervision implementation of online tests using a webcam, question management, and participant management.

The goal of this research is to build and test a Management Information System.

Widyatama University's TOEIC exam is delivered online. Supporting supervision the implementation of online tests using a webcam that can be monitored in real-time

web-based and question management, each of which is managed by admin and lecturers, are features in the Information System Management of the TOEIC Test at Widyatama University. Furthermore, the Widyatama University Web-based Information System TOEIC test management provides a test simulation feature that students can use to prepare before taking the online test. Both Widyatama University Bandung Language Institute and Widyatama University Bandung Students support monitoring results that are directly known by the parties.

2. METHOD

The method used to create a web-based TOEIC test management information system,The Waterfall method is used in this method, and the development stages begin with an overview of the system and data flow diagrams.

2.1. Software Development Method 1. Software requirements analysis

At this stage, the author gathers needs intensively by reviewing directly by sharing references to existing library information systems to specify the software requirements needed by officers or students, in other words, the user, so that it can be used properly.

2. Designing

The author focuses on four attributes during the design stage:

data structure, representation interfaces, software architecture, and coding procedures. As a result, at this point, the author provides several responsive web designs with the goal of being able to be opened from a variety of devices with large or small screens. And create a design that makes it simple for users to use the information system.

3. Programming code

Following the completion of the design process, the programmers create code by focusing on the design so that there is consistency between the design and the code.

Where the result will be consistent with the design process that has already been completed.

4. Testing

Moreover, at this stage of testing, the author ensures that all parts of the system are thoroughly examined in order to minimise all types of errors (errors) on the system and to ensure that the final result in the form of output from the system is as expected by the parties' examiner.

5. Supporting or maintaining

(4)

This stage allows the author to discover all errors that were not detected during the testing stage, so that at this support or maintenance stage, it is permissible to repeat the process from the previous stages without creating a new system.

2.2. Overview of the System

Widyatama University's TOEIC Test Management Information System Web- based is a system used to manage the TOEIC test system at the Language Institute Widyatama University Bandung.

The system is built for the web using a framework CodeIgniter, Mysql, and Phpmyadmin.

Picture I System Overview Figure The working principle of the TOEIC test

Management Information System is to manage the management of the TOEIC test at the Language UPT, Widyatama University, Bandung. Participants must register with the administration of the University Language Institute Widyatama Bandung in order to take the TOEIC online test. Regarding that, participants must perform a web-based test simulation using the email and password they were given by the administrator to log into the Widyatama University Language Institute website. The test simulation is one of the requirements for taking the online test.

After completing the test simulation, participants can register to take the online

test via the website according to the schedule that has been established.

2.3. Data Flow Diagram

Using modelling design Data Flow Diagrams, create a web-based TOEIC test management information system (DFD).

DFD is a TOEIC test management information system context diagram. The web-based TOEIC test management information system interacts with four entities: admin, manager, lecturers, and users/participants. Data on the web is represented by input and output processes from all entities into the system. The admin can manage user/participant data, lecturer data, test schedules, and so on while supervising the online test via a

webcam, laptop, or mobile device installed on each user/participant.

Managers can view user/participant data, lecturer data, test schedules, and user/participant test results. Lecturers can effectively manage questions for simulations and online test tests. They can also receive information about user/participant data, lecturer data, test schedules, and participant test results. The user/participant then has access to work on

simulation questions, register for the test online, receive test schedule information, and take online test.

3. RESULT AND DISSCUSION 3.1. Functional Testing
