Scheme of the Examination for Combined Graduate Level Examination

Merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. The questions will be designed to test the candidate's ability to use numbers correctly and understand numbers. The scope of the test will be the calculation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, percentage.

The questions in Parts A, B, & D will be of a level corresponding to the essential qualification viz. NOTE-2: Level-I examination is used to select the candidates to appear in Level-II examination for various papers which will be specifically required for different groups of posts. Marks of such selected candidates in Tier-I will be considered for the final ranking of candidates for selecting them for the Computer Skill Tests/ Data Entry Skill Test and also for final selection.

The skill test "Data Entry Speed" at 2000 (two thousand) keystrokes for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes will be of a qualifying nature. Computer will be made available by the Commission at the centre/place notified for the purpose. The proficiency test will be conducted in the manner decided by the Commission for the purpose.

Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion will be eligible to appear in the SKILL TEST. The SKILL TEST will be held at the Commission's Regional/Sub-Regional Offices or at other centers as decided by the Commission. Detailed instructions regarding skill test will be sent by the regional/sub-regional offices of the Commission to eligible candidates declared qualified to appear in the skill test.

The CPT will be implemented in the manner determined by the Commission. Detailed instructions regarding the CPT will be sent by the Regional/Sub-Regional Offices of the Commission to eligible candidates who have been declared qualified to appear in the CPT.

Document Verification

9(E): The Commission will conduct a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) consisting of three modules - Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Slide Creation for candidates for the post of CSS Assistant Section Officer (MEA) and Assistant in Serious Investigation Bureau of Fraud (SFIO) under M/O Corporate Affairs, Assistant (GSI) in M/O Mines. The DOPT scheme for the post of Section Assistant in CSS, Section Assistant (MEA) and Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under M/o Corporate Affairs, Assistant (GSI) in M/O Mines does not provide for exemption from CPT for which any category of PH candidates. Detailed instructions for DEST (Data Entry Skill Test) and CPT (Computer Skill Test) are/will be available on Commission website www.ssc.nic.in.. and members of Scheduled Tribes.

For the post of Inspector Central Excise, Examiner and Preventive Officer, as per CBEC's letter No. Height, Chest and Weight prescribed for the post of Inspectors, Central Excise, Examiner and Preventive Officer in CBEC. However, for orthopedically challenged candidates the following relaxation in Physical Test is allowed:. a) The test of “Step” will not be insisted upon in the case of OL and OAL categories. Note: Candidates are advised to ensure before opting for any category of post that they meet the requirements for that category.

Physical measurements (including vision test) for the candidates will be done by the respective indenting departments and only those candidates who meet the mentioned physical measurements will be eligible for the respective posts. The Commission will not entertain any application from candidates for posting to any other service/category of post if the nominated candidates do not meet the physical requirements.

Thus, the onus of fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be solely on the candidates opting for such posts.

Mode of Selection

Such SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates will be accommodated against the general/unreserved vacancies of the post as per their rank in the total merit list or vacancies earmarked for their category, whichever is favorable to them . The reserved vacancies will be filled separately among the eligible SCs, STs, OBCs and PH candidates. Such candidates may also be recommended by the relaxed standards to the extent of the number of vacancies reserved for them, to make up the shortfall in the reserved quota, irrespective of their rank in the order of qualification.

Success in the examination confers no right to appointment, unless the Government, after such investigation as may be deemed necessary, is satisfied that the candidate is suitable in all respects for appointment to the service/post. The candidates applying for the examination must ensure that they meet all the admission conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission to all stages of the examination will be purely provisional, subject to compliance with the prescribed admission conditions.

If at any time before or after the written test it is found on verification that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the test will be canceled by the Commission. Resolution of Ties: Ties will be resolved by applying one after the other, which applies until the tie is resolved.

SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates who are selected on their own merit without lax standards along with candidates belonging to other communities will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. A person with a physical disability (OH/HH/VH) who meets the Commission's examination requirements according to general standards may be appointed to a reserved vacant position, provided that the position is identified as suitable for a person with a disability of the appropriate category. Ex-Serviceman or Physically Handicapped (OH/HH/VH) category candidate who is eligible based on relaxed standards viz.

So far as Ex-Serviceman's cases are concerned, deduction in Ex-Serviceman's age is allowed in the reserved or unreserved posts and such exemption cannot be termed as relaxed standards in respect of age.

Accordingly, it was decided that the following details of the candidates will be made available on its website: (i) Name of candidate. ii) Father's/Husband's name (iii) Date of birth (iv) Category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/PH/minority) (v) Gender of the candidate. vii) Total marks obtained in the qualifying examination (viii). The digital file size of the photos must be more than 30 KB and less than 50 KB. xx). The digital size of the signature file must be more than 1 KB and less than 12 KB.
