This Sanskrit Shloka from ancient Indian Scriptures envisages the beautiful essence of collective and holistic wellbeing. At Gargi, we believe in this universal concept of holistic wellbeing of our community members through continued endeavours across disciplines, as well as empowering the community towards creating a positive environment that helps us all evolve in ways that maximize our wellbeing and equip us with tools to navigate through life in resilient ways ensuring the collective growth of our community. Our vision at the Gargi Centre for Wellbeing is to utilize a multicultural and multidisciplinary perspective to accredit the community members with indigenous tools and skills to help them flourish in various spheres of life.

ANANDA - THE WELLBEING CENTRE CHARTER

सवभव तुसु खनः

सव स तु नरामयाः । सव भ ा ण प य तु

मा क ःखभा भवेत् । शा तः शा तः शा तः ॥

May All be Happy.

May All be Free from Illness.

May All See what is Auspicious, May no one Suffer.

Peace, Peace, Peace

The conception of this idea led to the incubation of Gargi College Centre for Wellbeing -

‘Ananda’. The Centre has been conceptualized to integrate positive and affirmative actions that will impact the overall wellbeing of the Gargi community and anyone who would want to grow with Gargi. We plan to adapt evidence-based practices from a multi-disciplinary perspective to enhance the wellbeing of the stakeholders and be mindful of how structural and systemic changes impact the welfare of all. We strongly feel holistic wellbeing is comprehensive, all-inclusive, and achievable through impactful day-to-day choices and interventions across domains, improving the overall quality of life.

Vision:

Our vision is to promote the holistic spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of all stakeholders at Gargi through interactive, preventive, and promotional wellbeing measures and activities. The centre is a space for students, faculty, and staff to share their ideas and concerns, uncover their strengths, and build a community based on the ‘sharing and caring’ philosophy for a greater positive impact on individuals, diverse social groups, and society at large.
