Administrative Improvements

In addition, the Chairman of the Commission on Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) advises the Ministry on pricing policies for selected agricultural crops. National Food Security Mission

Oilseed cultivation is done all over the country in about 26.00 million ha, mainly under rainfed areas covering 72% of the marginal land and producing about 30.00 million ha. tons of oilseeds. The highest ever oilseed production was achieved in 2013-14 which declined during the subsequent 2 years due to deficient and erratic rainfall (Table-2).

After consultation with the States, Fertilizer Department and Lead Fertilizer Suppliers, etc., the total requirement for each State is estimated for the season. The new scheme guidelines have been uploaded on the website www.agricoop.nic.in 2. Major Components of MOVCDNER

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has launched a central sector scheme titled Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region for implementation in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura during 2015-16 to 2017 - 18. The scheme aims to develop certified organic production in a value chain mode to connect growers with consumers and to support the development of the entire value chain from inputs, seeds, certification and creation of facilities for collection, aggregation, processing, marketing and brand. building.
