With the approval of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University Bathinda, we at the Deptt. of Computer Science & Engineering and IT, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engg. College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab are going to organize a One-week short term Faculty Development Program in the upcoming area of “Soft Computing Techniques for Engineering Applications” starting from July 11th – 15th, 2016.
This short term FDP aims to achieve the familiarity with upcoming trends and latest developments in the field of Soft Computing along-with tools and applications.
Eminent speakers from academia and industry shall interact with the delegates during the Program Motivated faculty members from Engineering Colleges from MRSPTU affiliated colleges and others are invited to attend this Development Program.
There are only 30-vacancies, accordingly sending a registration form does not guarantee a seat for the FDP

BABA BANDA SINGH BAHADUR ENGINEERING COLLEGE (BBSBEC), FATEHGARH SAHIB is going to organize one-week FDP “Soft Computing Techniques for Engineering Applications” from 11th -15th July, 2016. This FDP aims to encourage the participants to get familiar with latest tools, trends, applications and development in the technologies of Soft Computing for engineering applications. FDP will provide a common platform to the faculty members of engineering colleges to focus on exploring various research opportunities and challenges in these latest areas.
AIM AND OBJECTIVES:
Soft Computing Techniques have been recognized as attractive alternates to standard hard computing paradigms. Traditional hard computing methods are requiring a precisely stated analytical model and often a lot of computational time. Soft computing techniques (Artificial Neural Network, Genetic Algorithm, Fuzzy Logic) which emphasize gains in understanding behavior in exchange for unnecessary precision, have proved to be important tools for many contemporary problems The main objective of the FDP is to provide fundamental & practical knowledge in these latest research fields so as to enable participants to solve real world problems and shall be achieved by dividing the work into the following:
1. Cover the basic theory and algorithms that are widely used in Soft Computing
2. Expose faculty members to current technologies & issues that are specific to Soft Computing.
2. Develop hands-on experience covering the installation and configuration, using various simulation tools available in the field of Soft Computing.
3. Develop critical thinking about shortcomings of the state of the Soft Computing.
ELIGIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANTS:
The motivated faculty members of engineering colleges affiliated to MRSPTU and others, who are connected with this upcoming field are eligible to participate in this program. All the participants shall get a participation Certificate; authorized by Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, provided they attend the full program.
2 HOW TO APPLY:
Interested faculty members can apply to Course Coordinator along with duly filled up Registration form on or before 5th July, 2016. Registration form can also be downloaded from the college website www.bbsbec.edu.in
Participants are required to email the scanned copy of the filled Registration form to the mail-id of the Course Coordinator of FDP ([email protected]), duly forwarded by the Head of the Institution.
Such application should be followed by hard copy of the Registration form and the Registration fees.
EXPERT RESOURCES:
Eminent speakers from institutions of National repute and Industry have been requested to interact with the delegates during this program.
TIME & VENUE:
The one-week program shall commence on July 11th, 2016 and will be spread over two sessions per day. The FDP will be organized in the Seminar Hall of Department of CSE & IT of BBSBEC.
REGISTRATION FEE:
A nominal non-refundable registration fee of INR 500 shall be charged from all the participants.
HOW TO APPLY:
Interested participants need to apply to the Course Coordinator on or before July 5th , 2016. There are limited seats and the rule of first-come first-serve shall apply as applicable.
