One-day Workshop on “Development of Soft Skills for Entrepreneurship among Agri Graduates”

Entrepreneurship has become one of the core issues, which has been identified as a tool to bring in desirable economic and social changes in the society. It has been observed that mere hard skills are not sufficient enough to enhance employability or entrepreneurship among the youth. Evidence indicates that employers consider soft skills essential or very important factor in hiring decisions. It is, thus, imperative to make endeavor to improve soft skills as well. Hard skills are specific and quantifiable knowledge or abilities that are considered to be job specific and are evident in tangible form as possessing a degree or certificate. Soft skills are unquantifiable attributes that are demonstrated through work style and approach. Communication, leadership, team work, creativity, etc. are the soft skills, which must be acquired and demonstrated to attain success in jobs and entrepreneurship.

Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna is, thus, organizing a one-day Workshop on

“Development of Soft Skills for Entrepreneurship among Agri Graduates” in collaboration of National Academy of Agricultural Research Management under the aegis of NAHEP-2 on February 24, 2020. The workshop provides opportunity to the young entrepreneurs to understand and identify the problems being faced in benefiting from the opportunities for entrepreneurial innovations while working with their team to pursue their business models.

Objective:

The main aim of the programme is to impart the entrepreneurial skills to the graduating students along with enhancing their soft skills with following objectives;

1. To Create awareness regarding innovativeness and entrepreneurship in agricultural sector among the students graduating in various disciplines of Animal Sciences.

2. To Develop soft skill among the undergraduate students of Bihar animal Sciences University, Patna.

Eligibility for participation:

The workshop is open for about 100 students from the 3rd year and 4th year of B. V.

Sc. and B. Tech. (D.T.) programmes of BASU, Patna
