CURRICULUM VITAE
Sambhunath Nandy was born in the year 1972 at Midnapur, West Bengal, India.
He graduated from Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur, Howrah (then affiliated to Calcutta University) in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1994. Later, he pursued his Master of Engineering degree in Production Engineering in the year 1996 from the same institute (renamed as Bengal Engineering College (Deemed University)).
Subsequently, he joined as Scientist at CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Re- search Institute (CMERI), Durgapur in the year 1997. Presently, he is working as Principal Scientist at Robotics and Automation Group of CSIR-CMERI and involved in executing projects in the area of surface and underwater robotics.
He was a recipient of DAAD fellowship (2002-2003) and worked at TU, Darm- stadt, Germany. He joined IIT, Kharagpur during 2006 as a sponsored research scholar. Since, 2007 he had been actively involved in the projects at CSIR-CMERI on land based Wheeled Mobile Robotic (WMR) systems as well as Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). He contributed to the development of robust control algorithms with judicious combination of multi-sensor information and implemented in the WMR hardware.
