Sub: Guidelines for Conducting Online PG Entrance Examination (Written and Personal Interview) for the Department of Library and Information Science, Assam University, Silchar
It is for the information of all the concerned that as per the PG Admission Examination Guidelines issued by the Central Admission Committee Vide AUK/ 201/1/2020-21 dated 20th October 2020, the Department of Library and Information Science, AUS will hold PG Admission Written Examination and Personal Interview through Online Mode.
The Departmental Admission Committee, in its meeting held on 03/11/2020, resolved that the Department would conduct PG Entrance Written Examination through Online mode using Google form (Time Based Quiz) on 11/11/2020 from 11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon.
After the Written Examination, the Personal Interview will be held, preferably through Google Meet / WhatsApp Platform, from 1.00 PM onward.
All the candidates are advised to download Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/ ) and WhatsApp (https://www.whatsapp.com/download ) on their Laptop / Smart Phone.
We will conduct a mock test on 10/11/2020 at 11.30 AM to make you familiar with the written exam.
We have created a WhatsApp Group for PG Entrance Examination for the Department. You are required to join the WhatsApp Group for communicating with us.

All the candidates are advised to use Desktop/ Laptop / Smart Phone with high-speed Internet Connectivity and keep your system ready with full power charging and backup provision.
Those who fail to appear in the Online Written Entrance Examination will be considered absent.
At the time of Examination, the candidate should use the device with a camera. You are advised to please keep your Camera ON during the exam (11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon. We will provide the Google Form link to you just before the exam. Be prepared for the Online Written Exam (Online Quiz).
There will be 50 Multiple Choice Questions from Reasoning, General English, General Knowledge, Current Affairs having different forms like true and false, Reason / Assertion / Matching Type Questions. The examination duration is for one hour. Each question will be of 2 marks, and two marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marks.
While appearing for the written test online, you must log in to Google Meet and keep your audio and video turned on.
All the candidates are required to submit all marks sheets, certificates, testimonials, Caste Certificate/
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer Certificate) / EWS Certificate in one PDF File to the HoD’s e-mail ID:
mksproject2020@gmail.com.
For scanning and making PDF files, Adobe Scan App can be used. The PDF file should also be uploaded to the Google Form Link provided above.
For Personal Interview
The candidates who will secure 50 % marks in the Online Written Test will be called for Personal Interview through Google Meet / WhatsApp Platform;
The Personal Interview will be held on 11/11/2020 from 1.00 PM onwards to 6.00 PM with a lunch break from 2.30 PM to 3.00 PM. The Personal Interview of remaining candidates, if any, may continue on 12/11/2020 from 11.00 AM onwards.
Each candidate will be given 5 minutes for a Personal Interview according to their assigned Roll No.
All should be ready with their Desktop / Laptop / Smart Phone and should wait for their turn.
