In today's rapidly evolving world, research plays a crucial role for the socio-economic growth of the country. I commend the DRD team for their efforts in detailing the various processes/phases involved in the Ph.D. JNTUH is the country's first technological university and today one of the largest affiliated universities in the state of Telangana.

Therefore, an independent Directorate of Research and Development (DRD) was established in 2005 to promote and monitor the research programs offered at the University. The Directorate of Research and Development coordinates with the Directorate of Admissions for the selection and admission of research scholars, as well as interacts with the Directorate of Evaluation for the issuance of Temporary and Original Certificates. Further, the DRD interacts with the Constituent Units of the University for the academic activities of the research degree and also with the Directorate of University External Relations (DUFR) for the admission of foreign students.

The Directorate of Research and Development initiates all the necessary academic activities for the monitoring and evaluation of candidates accepted for the Ph.D.
